The Federation starship USS Voyager, chasing a band of Maquis rebels, enters the dangerous space nebula known as the Badlands. Both ships are transported by a distant space probe to the Delta Quadrant, 75,000 light-years from Federation space. Voyager's crew and the Maquis form an uneasy truce to rescue crewmen of both ships, kidnapped by the probe's builder, the powerful, dying Caretaker. The Maquis ship is destroyed in a battle with the warlike Kazons. To prevent a Kazon aggression against a helpless world, Voyager destroys the space probe. Without the probe, it will take 75 years for Voyager to travel back to Federation space. With the differences between them rendered meaningless by time and distance, The Federation and Maquis crews unite aboard Voyager. Together, they embark on their new mission: to boldly go - home. Did You Know?
According to Garrett Wang
(who played Harry Kim), the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation
(1987) that he saw was Star Trek: The Next Generation: Code of Honor
(1987) which is widely considered one of the worst episodes of that series. Every time Wang tried to give the series another chance, it was a rerun of "Code of Honor". Because Wang was not a fan of that series, he feels that he was more relaxed during his audition for this series. After he was cast, the producers gave him episodes of "TNG" to prepare for his role. The first episode they gave him was "Code of Honor". See more
It's stated that Voyager has a "stable cruising velocity" of warp 9.975 but numerous times throughout the series the ship is shown "top out" at approximately warp 9.5 and is unable to go faster without damaging the ship. See more
Dismissed. That's a Starfleet expression for "get out".
