switcheroo
SnoopyStyle9 December 2020
Simon Himple (Harland Williams) surprises his older brother Carl (Jason Bateman) after he rents a rundown apartment in Harlem for the both of them. Carl is an unemployed divorced MBA graduate. Simon befriends Vintage TV channel owner Duke Stone and is immediately hired as a VP.

There is a little switcheroo here with the wacky sidekick as the lead. It doesn't always work but sometimes, it gets so wacky that it does get funny. It's not really a traditional family sitcom. The apartment with John Doe never takes off. The workplace is better. There is a good range of characters. That's why Carl should be working there right from the start. The pilot should be Carl going on the interview with Simon tagging along. Carl could start by working under Simon. That's the group and that's the sitcom. This show takes a little while to get going and it's canceled after one full season.

Funny, lame and down right hilarious.

I had the chance to watch, "Simon," when it first came out. I watched the show on The WB, I was in 3rd grade then. I now am currently in 10th grade. I also was able to record and save a few episodes, just before The WB canceled it.

I thought Simon was a great show. Funny, and also lame at some points. The cast was brilliant. Harland made the show along with Jason Bateman. When I first watched the show I didn't know who Harland Williams was, he was new to me. But even after the show was gone, I watched his career take off and I seen him in more and more shows and movies.

This show had potential, I think the time schedule lacked some, because the WB never really gave it a chance. They threw it out there, tried it, it failed and got rid of it. Every person, thing and even show should get a second chance; Simon, did not. Nonetheless, each episode made me laugh, all the routines and jokes would make me cry and wait impatiently until the next episode would come on.

Simon was worth watching no matter what I had planned. This show will truly be missed.

Good show regardless of what the critics said

I am watching this for the first time on the ctv throwback website. The first episode is pretty lame but the show is actually funny and gets better with each episode. I don't think it was given a fair chance back when it was on air. Its much funnier than alot of the shows that have been created in recent years. Good job actors, writers and producers of Simon.

i want/need to have the DVD series but it is not available that i know of every week i was on the floor rolling cause it was so funny!!!!!!!!!!!simon rules and i think the wb didn't give the show the chance it needed.now the wb needs to put all 21 episodes on DVD so fiends like me could go out and get it.I would be standing there waiting for it when it hit the shelves if ever it came out. They only showed 17 shows on air and obviously they didn't think it was good enough to show the rest.but good thing for harlem cause he got to start a long career because of his talent from this show.
