Storyline

Richard DeMorra has been estranged from his father, a self-made man with a fortune made in the rose growing business in Hawaii, for many years. When his father dies Richard returns home and finds he has been left an unusual legacy by his father - a set of markers. Throughout his life, whenever he encountered someone he considered to be a truly worthy person, Richard's father would give them a marker accompanied by a promise that it could be called in at any time for any favour that was in his power to grant. Richard decides to take up the challenge and each week a new marker is called in. Written by Murray C Park <home@murray.org>

Too Short a Season
24 February 2004 | by (Kansas City, MO) – See all my reviews

This was a unique show, smart, funny, with a little bit of everything. It had action and beautiful people, an amazing setting (Hawaii) and humor, and it had talent. I watched every episode, which is quite a rarity for me. I tend to wait until a show is 'seasoned' before I join the rank of viewer. However, this one drew me in from the start. Playing Richard Grieco's rebellious nature against Gates McFadden's more rigid social standards made for great moments. Someone needs to pick this show back up. Hello Hollywood - there are Americans that want to see smart and funny TV. West Wing, ER, CSI, Marker could be right there. Maybe Aaron Sorkin can join the creative staff. Just make sure you get Grieco and McFadden back. Writing is one thing, talent like that to enhance - so much more.
