This was a pleasant if unspectacular sitcom about the friendship between Hope, who worked for the Dennis DuPree Show, a local talk show hosted by your garden variety egotistical boob, and Gloria, a tough-talking hairdresser. Both actresses gave fine performances, but most of the comedy derived from the goings-on backstage at the show and from Gloria's ex-husband Louis. Outside of the usual Short-Lived Sitcom Shortcoming (not enough laughs), this one was pretty good. Not good enough, however, to last more than parts of two seasons.
