'The Last Panthers' debuts on SundanceTV to rave reviews: From BAFTA nominee to Emmys?

SundanceTV scored an Emmy nomination for Best Limited Series last year with "The Honorable Woman." And the net could enjoy similar success this year with another international thriller, "The Last Panthers," which debuts tonight (April 13). Inspired by the true story of a gang of real-life jewel thieves known as the Pink Panthers, this six-part program stars Oscar-nominees John Hurt and Samantha Morton, as well as Tahar Rahim and Goran Bogdan. It has already been nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Drama Series. BBC Drama Chief Polly Hill to Join U.K. Commercial Broadcaster ITV

London — The controller of BBC drama commissioning, Polly Hill, is to join commercial network ITV as head of drama. Her recent credits have included “Doctor Foster,” “War and Peace” and “The Night Manager.”

ITV director of television Kevin Lygo also announced Friday that Optomen managing director Sue Murphy will join ITV commissioning as head of factual entertainment, Siobhan Greene will move from ITV Studios to become the ITV commissioning team’s head of entertainment, and Peter Davey has been promoted to head of comedy entertainment.

ITV also announced that Angela Jain is to succeed Greene as managing director of ITV Studios Entertainment, and Rosemary Newell, Discovery Networks Intl. senior VP, content and operations, will become ITV’s head of digital channels and acquisitions.
