Definitely Hilarious

This show is definitely one of the funniest anime series made in a while, yet one of the least known. It was only four episodes, yet each one had it's quirks to them, from an anemic vampire, to a group of greedy monks working to shut out the Corporation. The only thing to dislike is that it was only four 30 minute episodes long. One can only hope that perhaps with the flood of TV series remakes of older OAV series, the Phantom Quest Corporation could get some more of their oddball cases.

My favorite anime

Phantom Quest Corp is a good example of a mixed genre anime. Extremely humorous but full of moments of effective horror and downright action filled. The Japanese are masters of mixed genre films and anime. My only complaint is that only four episodes were ever produced. I'd love to see the further exploits of this wonderful group of supernatural "detectives". Peretually in the red though they are.

Mix together unlikely, supernatural cases, with funny unusual heroes/heroines and the fun begins. From the main heroine who is a good mix of unlikely appearing heroine in the tradition of Sailor Moon to a medium who only works to supplement her pension. Also a 10 year old "firestarter" and a defrocked "priest/exorcist". Hysterically real at one moment and then when the going gets odd and dangerous they turn wonderfully heroic. Obviously finding in them the strength we all have to do the right thing when confronted by evil.

One thing though ,I wouldn't recommend it for kids. Partial nudity and a few sexual jokes and situations. Not to mention some really bad Karoke singing by the main heroine.

Too short lived anime OAV...

Yugen Kaisha aka Phantom Quest Corp, I pull out once a year to watch. One of the funnier Japanese anime I own. It's dark tones, quirky characters, and decent action and comedy is par to none. All 4 episodes are great, and slowly introduces characters to the Corp of monster hunting crew. Always wished they'd go back and either finish the OAV or bring out a feature length film, to introduce another addition, and more lipstick/light saber action. Many older Japanese anime need a comeback, and this one should be at the top of the list despite it didn't even get started. The perfect mix of Ghostbusters meets Japanese anime! Pick it up if you can find a copy!

Pretty neat heroine anime!

Warning: Spoilers
I gotta say I actually thought this anime was not bad! The heroine Ayaka was pretty much a likeable laid back character that you rarely see with girls in anime. She was even so funny with such words coming out of her mouth. I thought the most funniest scene with her was when she was singing pretty brutal while being drunk in the taxi and of course, she was pretty destructive so the driver got himself distracted and hurt by crashing into a line of traffic. Yeah this anime does remind you a bit of Ghostsbusters but in a different level completely lol.

I really liked the art, the Sub actors and the storyline. Although two complaints, they shouldn't really be always adding in the opening song as the background music and with the opening intro, its all fixated on Ayaka but no other action added. That way I would've given it a 9/10 but 8/10 sounds better to me. Definitely recommend this anime regardless of my two complaints lol....
