Monty is a student, and when his computer crashes, he's left with only a single paper copy of his thesis. Frightened of losing it, he immediately rushes out to photocopy it, only to stumble and drop it down a grate. Searching the basement of the building, he discovers that it has been found by Simon, a squatter. Simon makes a deal with Monty: for every day's accomodation and food that Monty gives him, he will give a page of the thesis in return. Written by

Did You Know?
When the movie was filmed in the winter of 1993-1994, there was already at least a meter of snow on the ground in Harvard Square and in all of Boston. However, because the actual snow did not look "real" enough to be filmed, it was all cleared away and replaced with artificial snow. See more
In the early scene in the advisor's office, conspicuous large snowflakes are falling outside the window behind the adviser, but in the shot showing the other window, there is no snow. See more
