A story about love, dancing and survival, set in the late 40s. Jan Mayer, a young dance-master, arrives in a sanatorium for lung diseases with a serious diagnosis - tuberculosis. But he does not give in to his illness and starts fighting it actively with his optimism and his dancing. Gradually he wins over other patients, who had been accepting their fate passively under strict institutional discipline. But his sickness soon breaks out in full its force. Written by
A light weight yarn with small doses of heart and soul.
Late 40's and the Comrades are looking out for each other by sending those with tuberculosis to a sanatorium, in hope of recovering. But the health system is as shonky as ever and the only life worth living for is created by the energetic young dance master, who shows the sickly patients the joys of living through dancing the pain away.
