A young man, Toh (Hugo Ng Doi-Yung) is on trial for the brutal murder of his brother, Wah (William Ho Ka-Kui). As the court case unfolds and witnesses take the stand, a horrific tale of sibling abuse, domestic violence and all-round thuggery ensues: Toh was subject to frequent attacks by Wah whenever he returned to the family home after being released from prison; one attack in which he was kicked in the groin having caused a defect of the reproductive system that results in lack of function of the testes and as a result unable to have penetrative intercourse. This physical castration leads to the breakdown in the relationship between Toh and his long-term girlfriend Jenny (Lily Chung Suk-Wai) and a festering resentment between the brothers. However, Wah's almost hyper-masculine aggression is not only directed at his adopted brother, but is also vented against his beautiful wife (Chan Pooi-Kei) and long-suffering parents. Wah is forever after money to finance his gambling and drug ... Written by lament

Enjoyable Cat 3 sleaze, though not sleazy enough
22 December 2007 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I quite liked this Category 3 outing, not as much as the better known classics but I still had something of a blast. As with the majority of these film, the acting and direction are for the most part top notch, so there are genuine thrills and some suspense in places. The trouble is that the film doesn't go as far as something in the Cat 3 genre should. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of any really nasty scenes, and the regular rape/sex started to get a bit old after a while. Also, there's little in the way of violence until the end and even then its less harsh and more amusing martial arts style. In fact amusement was the main thing I got from this film, a combination of the silly translations of all the dialogue in the subtitles and the regular softcore sleaze just kept making me chuckle, throughout the film. It's certainly sick and quite mean spirited but its a featherweight compared to others in the genre. As such, I would recommend it to sleaze and trash fans, Category 3 completists and those just starting out on the genre. Its just unpleasant enough to please though not enough to really impress. The comedy value is enough to leave one with a good feeling at the end though, and elevates it greatly above its slightly tame status.
