Continuity

When Charlie is in freefall chasing Nastassja after she 'falls' from the plane, when he opens his chute, it's shown from above as solid orange. A few moments later, when shown from below it's orange with purple end cells on one end and a black center cell. Moments later, it's shown again from above as solid orange.

Errors in geography

In the end both fall down and end near the rim of the Great Canyon, one second later they are in the air near windmills. There no windmills close to the Great Canyon.

Factual errors

The girl throws pebbles at the electric fence surrounding the facility they break into in the desert, the electrified fence sparks. Pebbles thrown at a single layer electrified fence would not cause a reaction.

In the several scenes where reserve parachutes are used, once they are inflated, a pilot chute can be seen trailing behind and attached to the top skin. Real reserve parachutes do not have the pilot chutes attached to them, the pilot chutes and deployment bags are designed to automatically disconnect after the parachutes inflates.

The Boeing 747 has an "INTERFLUG" livery. INTERFLUG - the airline of the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany) - never had a 747.

The rocket sled's rocket did not have the forceful jet of a rocket, it had regular gas burner flames.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

The 747 in the airplane graveyard would not have any functioning electrical systems, including the pre-flight video that was triggered during the shoot-out. All systems are deactivated and electrical power removed when aircraft are mothballed. The plane wasn't "mothballed", it was landed there to hide it. They intended to fly it within a few days.

Spoilers

The goof item below may give away important plot points.

Factual errors

When in the final fight Ditch releases Pinkwater's reserve, Pinkwater is drawn by it into the rotor of the windmill. The thrust of a reserve is not able to pull a man that high. It only throws the pilot chute out about 15 feet.

The windmill which kills Ben Pinkwater near the end of the film has blades which are rotating too fast relative to the general speed of the other windmills.
