Eminem just gave his mom the best Mother's Day gift any gal could ask for. After dishing out dozens of rhymes devoted to trashing his estranged mother, Debbie Mathers — who sued him for slander in 1999 over lyrics on “The Slim Shady LP” — the 41-year-old rapper apologized for his harsh words with a heartfelt music video (above) for “Headlights,” directed by Spike Lee. Is Lily Allen starting a major musical catfight? In the new music video for "Sheezus," the British pop star calls out a number of top divas including Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Beyonce and Lorde. DVD special features. Ain't they great? Packed full of fun facts about the making of your favourite TV programme or movie, they're designed to add great value for money to our favourite shiny discs.
The problem is though, they're the equivalent of Toto pulling back the curtain on a huffing and puffing Wizard of Oz who's doing his level best to convince a motley crew of visitors that he's some awe-inspiring green overlord head of doom rather than a chubby bloke pressing down lots of pipes. The illusion's gone – much like the DVD special features which show the mundane process behind the end product. Look, there's a sweaty cameraman zooming in on the hero of the hour! Look, there's take number 39, with cast members pulling the face of a man chomping down on a wasp sandwich. Value for money is all well and good, but DVD extras are essentially the »

Season 24 of "The Amazing Race" started on Sunday (February 23) night with an episode that inverted the show's ideal momentum. There was a shocking, sad and emotional twist before we got to the opening credits, but then 50 minutes later, the episode concluded without any cursory effort at creating suspense or tension. And the editors couldn't have created tension even if they wanted to, as the "All-Stars" season began with a purely designed Leg featuring two needle-in-a-haystack -- not especially big haystacks, either -- plus a Roadblock that failed to inject even an iota of difficulty into the game. For a season that was already plagued by skepticism regarding the "favorite" status of several of the team selections, this was not an ideal premiere, now was it? I'd love to have more to talk about from Sunday's hour, but it wasn't well-suited for recapping, either. I'll do my best after the break, »

After a first episode (read our recap of that one here) that dropped a bomb, episode two of House of Cards’ second season turned its attention to the dynamics of Washington, or at least, Washington as House of Cards sees it. This installment was a portrait of people who can switch morals on or off like the Internet connection that allows Frank to play God of War. Everybody — from Frank Underwood to Claire Underwood to Congresswoman Jackie Sharp — compartmentalized and rationalized out of perceived necessity, so they can keep living well and living with themselves. As Howard Webb told Wes Buchwalter, referring to the House Ethics Committee and delivering the best line of the episode: “All you can offer me is Ethics, which nobody wants.” (Second best line of the episode, from Lucas’s Washington Herald boss to Lucas: “We can’t have an editor looking more disheveled than his »

Red dresses are a classic look, but I prefer to play it safe and confine crimson to my lipstick, nail polish and accessories. Not even the beautiful gowns at the Golden Globes can sway me
I have a problem with the colour red. I have in my life only ever owned one red dress and I designed and made it myself: a blood-red velvet and taffeta cocktail dress with the neckline perched on the very tip of the shoulder, a fitted bodice and swishy scarlet petticoats. This, you might have guessed, was a 1980s dress, but it was also, significantly, during the Blond Period illustrated in my Twitter avatar (yes, that really Is me). Had my hair been its natural auburn, I couldn't have worn that dress on the basis that in red I felt I looked uncomfortably like a blood clot. As it was, when I was blonde, wearing red felt entirely appropriate. »
