Wedding in Las Vegas is Mediocre
30 April 2003 | by (Montreal, Quebec) – See all my reviews

This made for TV movie where Zack Morris and Kelli Kapowski decide to get hitched in Sin City, somehow managed to air on NBC in October of 1994. I can recall watching it that Friday night and changing the channel ever so often because the movie was lame in many aspects. The best scene clearly is near the end when the couple become husband and wife. Besides that, the only meaningful thing about Wedding in Las Vegas is when Zack's mother told him in the beginning that she was strongly opposed to him marrying Kelli at his age and decided not to go against his dad's feelings. The big NO NO in the movie is the inclusion of Gilbert Goddfrey. His character is so memorable in a bad way. I have been a big-time fan of the Saved by the Bell series since it's debut on a Sunday evening in 1989, and I will admit Wedding in Las Vegas was a below average film. Having someone such as Andrew Dice Clay as himself would have been better than that Gilbert Goddfrey and his strange voice. The best possible scenario for Zack to tie the knot with Kelli would have been after four years of college. Their marriage would have made much more sense if they were young adults. The obvious place for them to get married would have been in the LA area where they were raised. What just doesn't seem logical is how Wedding in Las Vegas is called the final end to the Saved by the Bell TV series when a New Class version of this series continued for some odd reason. I guess that would actually make the Las Vegas wedding movie out to be obsolete.
