Corny, but entertaining end to the 'Nerds' legacy
5 March 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The original 'Revenge of the Nerds' was one of my favorite movies growing up and today I still enjoy the heck out of it. The sequels, unsurprisingly, can't match the first film in hilarity, but they're good for what they are, including this third and final (At least for now) sequel. They're amusing and harmless fun and I can't think of better way for it all to end.

Pros: A still likable cast. It's great to see the return of some old cast members. Quick-paced. Some amusing bits and gags. A bit more plot that the previous sequels. Some genuinely sweet moments. The corniness is kind of endearing.

Cons: Some will likely be turned off by how corny this is. Not nearly as funny as the first two films. Totally predictable.

Final thoughts: I'm sure no one expected there to be a sequel to the original 'Nerds' movie, much less three, but there ya have it. Though there was no real need for this film, it's hard not to like it when all it wants to do is entertain and tickle your funny bone. It doesn't excel in either area, but you could find a much worse way to spend 90 minutes.

My rating: 3/5
