Storyline

In pre Civil War America, slaves are prepared to risk everything for the chance of freedom from bondage. This films relates the story of a group of slaves who decide to try for it. Fortunately, in addition to the dangers from slave catchers and the elements, our heros also have the Underground Railroad, the clandestine network of caring people, like Harriet Tubman, who face great risks of their own. I LIKED IT
22 March 2003 | by (hamilton,ontario,canada) – See all my reviews

I think perhaps one of the reasons I liked this movie is that part of it was filmed on my Father's farm in southern Ontario. My great-great Grandmother was a Creole living in Ontario and I feel this movie showed the plight of runaway slaves quite well. The casting was rather good--who expected Juleesa could act like an uneducated slave?I'm not one of those people who picks a movie apart so I really found it entertaining.
