Pulp Fiction star Samuel L Jackson was terrified after he underwent a full-body scan and doctors discovered he had a blocked artery. The star's wife insisted the 57-year-old get a physical and he went to the doctor's office for a series of tests. He explains, "The doctor tells me, 'We've got this great thing, we put you in this machine and we scan your whole body.' Next thing I know, they say, 'You've got a blockage in one of your arteries.' I go to the hospital to get an angiogram. They put this thing in your artery and they look into your heart. I always thought when you're having surgery they put you to sleep. So I'm laying there talking to the doctor thinking at some point I'm going to count backwards (for the anesthesia). Then we're looking at the monitor and it's my body! Hey, I don't wanna watch." Doctors eventually discovered that the actor was fine after he endured the round of traumatic testing. He adds, "There are a lot of things your stunt double should do for you - that might be one of them!" »

Mickey Rourke has refused to comment on why he left director Quentin Tarantino's latest film Grindhouse, insisting he'll stay silent until Tarantino speaks out first. Rourke was set to play the part of Stuntman Mike on the Kill Bill director's latest collaboration with director Robert Rodriguez, and was later replaced by Kurt Russell. The 9 1/2 Weeks star had previously worked with the directors on the hit movie Sin City and hints there might have been a falling out with Tarantino. He tells Radar Online, "You know what? He hasn't made any comments about it. And until he makes a comment about it, I'm not going to say anything. It just didn't work out. And I hope that's what he has to say. I'm just going to wait." The actor was supposedly Tarantino's first choice to play the movie's villain and he hints in the interview that he was actually the one who passed on the role and he wasn't fired from the film. Rourke also turned down a role in the film that made Tarantino's career, Pulp Fiction, back in the early 1990s. »
Uma Thurman and Andre Balazs' romance is definitely back on - they have been spotted vacationing together in Denmark. The Pulp Fiction actress, 36, officially split from the 48-year-old hotelier in March - confirmed by her publicist last month. Thurman stunned fans when she turned up the Oscars in March without Balazs, bringing her publicist Robert Garlock instead. But during recent promotional work in the UK for her film My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Thurman hinted their relationship was back on, declaring, "How do you know I've broken up with him? It might very well just be on-and-off again. Who knows?" And the pair were spotted walking hand-in-hand in Danish capital Copenhagen's famous Tivoli Gardens amusement park on Wednesday. After enjoying the sights of Tivoli, the couple were invited by restaurateur Paul Cunningham to dine in his eatery The Paul. Following their meal, the pair rented a pair of bicycles and pedalled through the city, despite the heavy rain. When asked by a photographer if she was on business in Copenhagen, Thurman replied, "I'm just on holiday." Thurman and Balazs - owner of Hollywood's famed Chateau Marmont hotel - first started dating in December 2003, three months after the actress split from her now ex-husband Ethan Hawke. Hollywood couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston have raced to fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise's support as he and fiancee Katie Holmes plan a controversial silent birth in the coming days. The heavily pregnant actress plans to adhere to strict Scientology rules and give birth without screaming obscenities or making loud noises. But the Travoltas insist the birthing procedure, which has been mocked in the press over the past few months, isn't like people think. The Pulp Fiction star says, "There are unwanted emotions and pain that goes along with any birth." Preston insists the Scientology-friendly labor doesn't forbid the mum-to-be from yelling out in pain: "Screaming is fine... It's the words. If you can avoid saying certain phrases and words... Just try to keep it as quiet as possible. Of course you're going to groan and yell. It hurts. Just keep it to a minimum." »
Pulp Fiction star Samuel L. Jackson was so amused by the title of new movie Snakes On A Plane, he signed up without reading the script. The movie features an assassin who intends to kill a passenger on a flight by releasing a batch of deadly snakes. Jackson explains, "I didn't even read the script - I just saw the title, 'Snakes on a Plane' and said 'Ok, good. I'm there.' You have got to love that. That's exactly what it is - 500 poisonous snakes released on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. They are (set free) on a time release half-way there, so we can't go back, we've got to keep going. Quentin Tarantino has slammed James Bond producers for failing to contact him following his request to direct forthcoming 007 movie Casino Royale, because the remake had been his idea. In 2004, the Pulp Fiction film-maker suggested producers remake Ian Fleming's original 1953 storyline, after screenwriters Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, who penned The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, publicly announced they were struggling to write a third script. Tarantino had hoped to direct Casino Royale and had advised the Bond team to "go my way and do it a little differently", while maintaining he could still be trusted with the legendary superspy series. But he was upset not to be contacted when Goldeneye director Martin Campbell was instead chosen to direct the new 007 thriller starring Daniel Craig. Tarantino says, "I'm annoyed that the James Bond producers never called me to talk about it because I can tell you that they would not be making Casino Royale if I hadn't talked about it first. "They should have called me. Especially since they are taking my idea and they are taking the publicity I gave them towards that idea. "They should have at least had the courtesy to have coffee with me." »
