Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

IF THE MOVIE RECIEVED AN M.P.A.A. RATING IT WOULD PROBABLY BE:

R FOR BRIEF GRAPHIC BLOODY VIOLENCE, VIOLENT IMAGES, AND BRIEF NUDITY

There is a brief scene at the beginning of the second part that shows a female character in the shower nude. A character is pregnant, but she is in her 20s and married.

In the third part, there is a little boy running around without pants on (maybe 4 years old?).

Violence & Gore

This film takes place during the same time period as the Bosnian war. There are pictures that show civilian casualties.

There are scenes in which turtles and cats are treated inhumanely with fire or bullets. The scene with the cat is gruesome, and may be difficult to stomach.

There is much discussion of a murder that occurs. The murdered man's body is shown.

There are two instances in the movie in which people are shot, one of which is visible on screen, the other is not shown until the character is laying on the ground.

Profanity

There are numerous references to one of the characters being a "slut" or "whore".

Alcohol: There are several scenes which involve drinking, all in a casual no-one-is-driving context. There is no excessive alcohol consumption.

Smoking: Several of the characters smoke regularly throughout the movie. At one point in the movie, a boy (who appears to be about 12) is seen smoking.

Several photographs of war casualties are shown throughout.

The scene in which a cat is shot repeatedly is gruesome, and may be very disturbing to some viewers.

There are several scenes in which there is intense fighting, bloodshed and death - some of these are implied with background noise, some are the focus of the camera.
