The radio broadcast heard during the opening credits of the film was originally intended to be a segment from Don Imus' "Imus in the Morning" program that was recorded live during an on-air interview with director Ron Howard. A portion of the segment appears as Michael Keaton walks through the newsroom.

Work or Family - You Decide

This was a great film that showed how work interferes with family. It often happens that you must choose to be successful. Michael Keaton is trying to do both and is doing badly at each. This is probably the best film I have seen with Marisa Torme. I really like her and she did a fantastic job here as Keaton's wife. Glen Close was brilliant as the bitchy supervisor, and Robert Duvall did a fantastic job as he usually does. This was a very good film about the newspaper business, but it was more about relationships and taking care of your family. Ron Howard's direction was great and the story flowed smoothly. All in all, an enjoyable film.
