Angela returns to host another Halloween party at Hull House!, 8 September 2005

Night of the Demons 2 (1994) was a highly entertaining sequel that's on
par with the first film. Angela (Amelia Kinkade) is back to host
another wicked party at the infamous Hull House. Ever since she
disappeared a few years back, Angela has become as legendary as the
house itself. She's in town looking for some more "kids" that want to
party down! Students from a local parochial school meet Angela and
accept her invitation, with some nasty side effects. How will the
surviving kids deal with Angela and her new minions from hell? Will
Mother Superior puck up her yard stick and join the fight against evil?
If you enjoy horror films with heavy comedic overtones then you'll want
to watch NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2!
So much weirdness in this film that it defies logic, but in a fun way.
The film never takes itself too serious and neither should you, just a
fun sequel directed by the Aussie king of exploitation Brian
Trenchard-Smith.
Highly recommended.

Well made film with good pacing and cast, 4 July 2002

This film reminded me of Fright Night (1985), or maybe Idle Hands (1999)
in
the way it was a horror with a fair of amount of humour
too.
Don't take it too seriously, and I think you'll enjoy seeing the good
special effects and some remarkably atmospheric scenes. True, there's
not
much of a story but the characters are realistically played and with
some
great interplay between the cast. Especially good are Zoe Trilling as
Shirley, Bobby Jacoby as Perry, and Christi Harris as Bibi.
And for gore fans, there are some particularly gruesome deaths towards
the
end. Funniest parts were the use of supersoakers by the ninja-like
Sister
Gloria and the gang, and Kurt having his crotch felt by (he thought)
Terri.
If you're a fan of the genre, enjoy!

Great horror flick, 9 June 1999

This horror movie is not only good, it's actually better than the original. It's an exceptional blend of horror and comedy. Be sure to watch for Kurt when he's in the van with Marsha Brady and when he's playing basketball back at Hull House. The demon effects were well done and the scenery was very eerie. As opposed to part one, the good guys in this one have supersoakers and holy waterballoons to fight Angela's unholy thugs. There is also an interesting story to follow involving Melissa, the sister of demon Angela. This is a great late-night horror movie to watch with friends. Rent this one, but by all means, stay away from part 3.

Demons and burning hormones..., 30 September 2003

There are some horror movies that not contribute anything to the genre...And
still they're not to be missed. Like the Night of the Demons series !
They're not classics and they never will be...but you sure curse yourself if
you miss 'em. This series is just so much fun.
It delivers what young horror fans expect. Tons of blood and buckets of
gore, loud metal music and gorgeous babes ( we'll come back to that later
).
There isn't much of a story or a plot, just some kids who go to celebrate
Halloween in the legendary Hull House and...guess what...they raise a demon
and bring it out of hell into our world !! This demon has an urban legend
attached to her ! She's named Angela and has the honor of being the mistress
of Satan himself !! You hear it, no Orson Welles' writing but pure
entertainment. The film starts with a scene in which Angela slaughters a
couple of Jehova witnesses, so a great mood is set immediately. There's
absolutely no tension or atmosphere present in this whole movie, and that's
a bit of a shame. The crew of NOTD2 put so much work in the comedy elements
that they totally forgot to add a bit of thriller aspects. So it's purely a
horror comedy and not every fan appreciates that.
I don't mind, though. Sure this film will never rank on top of my favorites
list but I sure loved watching it ( ...and re-watching it
)
Just don't take it too seriously. The film itself didn't do that
neither...
Time for the cast !!! I'm not very much praising their talent because,
well..., it's missing for most of them. But they ( and by "they" I mean the
girls ) are gorgeous ! Let's honor Angela first. Amelia Kincade is just as
sexy as in the original. In her normal form she looks like a Godess and
she's perfectly backed up by Bibi, Terri and Shirley...I don't know all
their real names but who cares ? They're beautiful and not afraid to show a
bit of their lovely bodies. Everybody in this film is horny by the
way...
Favorite "rewind" moment : Without a doubt...Angela's erotic dance act at
the Halloween party ! Staring with your eyes wide open, I assure you
!

All grown up and ready to party!, 18 February 1999

Angela's grown up and wants some new playmates! I was really looking forward to this movie after watching the first one and was surprised to see Christine Taylor (Terri) in this movie! I liked many of the concepts (look for a "pleasing" experience for Kurt) and most of this movie made the other pale in comparison. I had to give it a ten since it was better than the original and I loved every minute of it. At least it didn't resort to become just another cheesy sequel. Now if only I could find number 3....

Entertaining sequel to a classic, 16 July 2008

"Night of the Demons 2" is a really impressive and exciting sequel.
**SPOILERS**
Preparing for a party, Bibi, (Christi Harris) Perry, (Robert Jayne)
Johnny, (Johnny Moran) Rick, (Rick Peters) Kurt, (Ladd York) Mouse,
(Merle Kennedy) Terri, (Christine Taylor) and Shirley Finnerty, (Zoe
Trilling) hear about a local legend several years ago about a party
invaded by spirits. Due to their youthful exuberance, Father Bob, (Rod
McCary) and Sister Gloria, (Jennifer Rhodes) both warn them about doing
anything, only for them to sneak out anyway and head to the location
told in legend for a secret party. Spending the time trying to find out
about the place, they unwittingly release the demonic Angela Franklin,
(Amelia Kinkade) from the nether world and bring her back to the
campus, where she unleashes a campaign of terror against the students
there. Aware of the situation, they trace the possessed students back
to the house where they do battle with the creatures to prevent more
from succumbing to their deadly whims.
The Good News: This one here was actually pretty good for the most
part. The main thing going on with this one is that it's really bloody
and gory, much more so than the already-messy first one. This one
includes some really great kills, including several decapitations with
a machete, a nail-spiked baseball bat rammed into the face, exploding
heads and arms, a couple are hacked to pieces with a machete and then
the film's greatest part, the fact that the destruction of the
creatures is done with holy water, causing them to completely melt down
into a puddle of blood and goo at the merest contact, and this is
turned into rivers and gigantic puddles here with entire sections of
the body completely done away with in this manner. The accomplishment
of this is also just as good, being done with spectacular fashion and
making it look really messy and realistic, as are the majority of the
special effects. Beyond the fantastic make-up abilities, there's also
the serpent-creature at the end which is just plain impressive and
looks really great. The mixture of the really great-looking snake
combined with the front-half being the person, and that this is even
given a couple of full-on in-motion shots without the slightest bit of
realisticness sacrificed for the shot is an accomplishment. As well,
the ability of the series to include where a woman's breasts perform a
special, supernatural trick is repeated here with one that's just as
memorable as the one from the first film and it becomes quite memorable
for how it's pulled off. The last big thing in this one is the really
impressive action scenes. The party scene at the campus house is great,
with tons of great kills, the insane dancing scene and of course the
highlight of the breast-trick. The car part has a great conclusion, and
the first visit to the house is great. The last half-hour, which is the
final fight against the creatures in the house again is just all-out
joy, from the big set-pieces to the rather grand confrontation and all
the great suspense that comes from the location and the gore makes it
really great. These here are the film's good parts.
The Bad News: There wasn't a whole lot to this one that didn't work.
The constant-doubting of the authority figures here is one of them,
since there's very little that can come from such a cliché. It's not
new, doesn't do anything new with it and really doesn't work here. The
only other flaw to this is that there's way too much time at the
beginning of the film with nothing going on of interest. The flirting
on the tennis court, the scenes in the dorm and the party preparation
scenes are really of little use to the film other than providing more
time before it gets to it's good parts. It's got nothing here that it
can't work out elsewhere through something more energetic, and the
resulting time really hurts this one a lot. These here are the film's
worst points.
The Final Verdict: One of the least-offensive examples of the 80s
cheese-fest around, this one is really good with a lot to like about
it. Worthwhile for those who enjoy these kinds of films, a fan of the
first one or are looking for a brainless creature feature, while those
looking for more should heed caution.

This movie was good, though a bit cheesy. The major characters were not too well developed, but Cristi Harris (BiBi) made the movie especially good with her innocent look but not-so innocent character. Despite its cheesiness, I'd recommend this movie to a few friends.

Not as scary as the original, but has a much better cast and a
sprinkling of humor. Although the humor won't elevate this into the
Evil Dead and Re-Animator cult status, it is as good as I Was a Teenage
Zombie and Head of the Family.
Takes place at a Catholic school near Hull House, the stomping grounds
of demonic exotic dancer Angela(Amelia Kinkade). When four students are
restricted from attending the school dance, the bad girl(super sexy Zoe
Trilling) decides to throw a little party at Hull House.
Of course when they get to Hull House, spooky things start going on, so
they quickly leave. Angela is able to follow however since Christi
Harris swiped some lipstick from the bathroom. The film picks up when
Angela starts possessing the kids, and they fight back with holy water
balloons and super-soakers.
This second installment has the hottest actresses, with ample chested
Zoe Trilling, Mrs. Ben Stiller Christine Taylor and little known red
headed goddess Christi Harris. Watch this to see just how perfect of a
body Christi has.

Angela's Back !!, 21 November 2000

No,not Angela from "Sleepaway Camp," but the reigning Queen of Halloween Parties herself. It's not often that a sequel out does its predecessor, but this movie holds up to the same successful and incredible formula of humor, less gore, and light sex that made the first one a hit. This movie introduces us to Angela's little sister, Melissa, who should have become suspicious the moment her sister called her Mouse. That's a nickname she got after joining the Catholic school. Angela shouldn't have known that. I also thought that Perry [Bobby Jacoby] might have been the same little brother of Cathy Podewell's character from the first movie, but no dice. The real break-out star of course is Zoe Trilling playing Shirley Fenardi who tends to steal every scene she is in with a single line or her incredible figure. She all but vanishes from much of the film. If you blink, you'll miss what happens to her. It's such a waste to a great character. Pre-Brady Christine Taylor also goes anti-Marcia in this with a brief lesbian scene with Zoe before getting possessed in a scene that ends too quickly to be enjoyed. She goes on to meet up with Zoe's sinister competition, Fairuza Balk in "The Craft." The rest of the guys and girls are paper-thin jocks, punks, and non-descripts. The nun though is a real hoot, but the priest is an annoying presence whose death you'll want to cheer. I give this movie Ten out of Ten stars.

A fun sequel to the enjoyable original, 23 December 2007

Snarky Shirley Finnerty (a nicely bitchy performance by luscious brunette Zoe Trilling) and her friends from St. Rita's High School decide to have a Halloween party at the infamous Hull House. The kids find out that stories pertaining to the place being haunted are anything but silly or far-fetched. The malevolent spirit of Angela (slinky Amelia Kinkade) is still alive and ready to wreak some major league nasty havoc. Ably directed by seasoned Australian exploitation movie expert Brian Trenchard-Smith, with a suitably crude script by Joe Augustyn, plentiful gratuitous female nudity, a thrashin' rock soundtrack, polished cinematography by David Lewis, a wild pull-out-the-stops last third, an amusingly campy sense of goofy humor, and a spooky score by Jim Manzie, this pictures makes for a pleasingly trashy tongue-in-cheek hoot. Moreover, the cast are all solid, with especially praiseworthy work from Jennifer Rhodes as the stern, but spunky Sister Gloria, Cristi Harris as the sweet, adorable Bibi, Merle Kennedy as Angela's timid sister Mouse, Bobby Jacoby as the nerdy Perry, Johnny Moran as the libidinous Johnny, Christine Taylor as yummy blonde Terri, Rod McCary as the uptight, skeptical Father Bob, and Darin Heames as the raucous Z-boy. In addition, Steve Johnson's excellent make-up f/x really deliver the grotesque goods; grisly highlights include a slimy snake-like creature horribly violating a lovely young lass, a guy having his neck snapped, a juicy decapitation, a possessed dude's head melting after its drenched with holy water, and one fellow's severed noggin being used as a basketball. Plus the giant Angela humanoid snake monster which pops up at the end is genuinely gnarly. Sure, this flick definitely ain't no work of subtle and sophisticated art, but it's still perfectly entertaining nonsense just the same.
