Disney paid $450,000 for the remake rights to the French original before it had even been released in the US.

Goofs:

Continuity: When the father is waiting up for Nicole, he sees her walking towards the house. He runs to the couch to pretend he was already asleep. When he kicks off his shoes, one lands on the floor by the couch while the other appears to bounce off the table onto the floor on the far side of the table. We see Nicole walk in. Then when we see the father again, the straps of one of his shoes can be seen on the table by the ashtray.

Funny, intelligent and realistic comedy

This is a funny, intelligent and, in a sense, realistic comedy about a 14-year-old trying to live her first love while on vacation, and also about the complex, sometimes amusing, sometimes touching, relation between a divorced father and her growing daughter... and about how far a women (not only Nicole, the teen-ager) can go to get the man she loves! I laughed a lot with this lively scenario that never drags.
