awfully cringe-worthy movie with some great performances
10 September 2017 | by (Nepal) – See all my reviews

It was not what it is supposed to be. A perfect example of what you should NOT do when the two actors playing important roles die before the completion of the movie. The script was altered, the roles were NOT given to others just to retain the original cast. It was (as per trivias on online sources) originally set to release in 1989, but after a number of delays, much belated production, death of Vinod Mehra and Nutan and after the worst possible alteration of the script along with a terribly terrible direction, it was released in 1994. And, it should've been shelved. Action sequence is too over the top and is cringe-worthy, overall. Songs pictured on Bachchan were mostly good.

Amitabh Bachchan looks awkward and uninterested and perhaps he knows that he won't succeed with this one at all, looking at the scenes shot later (he looks wrinkled in those shots). But man, in the original scenes, he is so good. Best pieces of his performances ever. This shows how good this movie should've been. Nutan and Vinod Mehra were good. Anupam Kher was too uninterested. Chunky Pandey, am I ever gonna say he was good in anything? No. Sunny was awkward as well. Some parts had actors of early 80s which were well performed but forgettable.

The 2/10 rating is just because Amitabh, in some original, parts was too great. Plus, two of my favourites, Vinod Mehra and Nutan were seen on the screen for the last time via this movie and every major song was good.

Watch this movie only in some parts. Altogether, 15 minutes of the whole movie has some good acting, but at the same time doesn't make any sense.

IMDb rating : 2/10.

Actual rating : 2/10.
