Having not seen the first film, but having seen a couple of the directors films before, i had no idea what this film would be like. I solely wanted to watch it out of curiosity, but curiosity killed the cat.... The film is labelled as an 'erotic thriller' though i'm not sure why. There were two small sex scenes where it becomes apparent that director Fred Olen Ray has a bit of an obsession with breasts, I'll say no more than that. No tension, suspense or scares are to be found, the plot just involves a bunch of characters double-crossing one another. Tracy Brooks Swope's attempts to convey hysteria were just stupid. I won't give the ending away but its obvious from the start whats going on. I will stick up for Margaux Hemingway, I feel sorry for her treatment in the film industry and think that her lisping, back stabbing turn as a business partner is by no means as bad as the wooden acting of Michael Nouri and Jennifer Ciesar. Despite all of this negativity, i enjoyed Inner Sanctum 2 in a perverse way and, hey, I may even watch the first one!
