Richard Curtis Honored by Writers Guild With Valentine Davies Award

Richard Curtis has been named the recipient of the Writers Guild of America West’s Valentine Davies Award in recognition of his humanitarian efforts, charitable initiatives and world service.

Curtis’ screenplay credits include “Love Actually,” “Bridget Jones’ Diary,” “War Hose” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” He will be honored at the Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Feb. 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“The Valentine Davies Award is given to that Wgaw member whose contributions to the entertainment industry and the community-at-large have brought dignity and honor to writers everywhere.” said WGA West President Howard A. Rodman.

Viceroy’s House World Premiere at 67th Berlin International Film Festival

Viceroy’s House by BAFTA nominated director Gurinder Chadha will celebrate its World Premiere at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival on Sunday 12th February 2017.

Gurinder Chadha, director of Viceroy’S House, said: “I am honoured that Viceroy’S House has been selected by the Berlin Film Festival. My film is an inspirational intensely personal true story about the traumatic events that took place at the end of the British Empire in India, events that tore my own family apart. The Festival gives us a brilliant opportunity to showcase my passion project to a global audience.”

Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’S House will be released in cinemas by Pathe in the UK and by Reliance Entertainment in India on 3rd March 2017.

Huma Qureshi’s Viceroy’s House to premiere at Berlin International Film Festival

Huma Qureshi’s debut international film Viceroy’s House is fast becoming the talk of the town. The film is all set to premiere at the Berlinale 2017 on Sunday 12th February 2017.

Directed by acclaimed director Gurinder Chaddha (of Bend it like Beckham fame) this large canvas period film is a historical drama as well as a sweeping love story. On Sunday, January 8, Ryan Gosling won the 2017 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his portrayal of Sebastian in Damien Chazelle’s “La La Land.”

The award was presented to Gosling by Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
