Where has this zombie flick been hiding?, 24 August 2002

As you can probably tell by my nickname, I love horror films, zombie films in particular. I have pride in my knowledge of horror films, as I own close to a thousand of them and have seen many more. But I have to admit, I had never heard of this flick before yesterday. Browsing through a video store in another town, I came across it,scratching my head wondering how good could this be if I've never heard of it before. I was pleasantly surprised by this film. I think it was just as good as The Dead Next Door(a B grade zombie flick that gets a lot of attention as being an unknown classic). This is a fun film to watch if you don't expect too much from it. Don't expect great acting, top quality production, and whatever else most people think it takes to make a good film. But if your a fan of B grade horror movies, or on a quest to see and own every zombie movie ever made(such as myself), give this one a chance. I was surprised to see one of the zombies in this movie was Bill Hinzman, the cemetery zombie who chases after Barbara in the original Night Of The Living Dead. I guess you could say he is reprising his role, so to speak. I think he also directed and produced this film. I must admit, this film does seem to borrow a little from the original Night Of The Living Dead, but I don't care. This movie was fun and entertaining to watch and that's all I ask for. I was surprised at the amount of gore as well. The version I got was an uncut one entitled Revenge Of The Living Zombies. Once again, a pleasant surprise. Well, I have to go now and find a copy of this movie to buy somewhere! Later.

This movie is one of the best independent zombie flicks. There are a lot of zombie movies which stretch the basic elements of zombie horror and this one doesn't. It sticks to the good old fashoned plot and form that was started by "Night of the Living Dead". I enjoy this film every time I watch it. Keep your eyes peeled for the up coming DVD release.

Predictable but still not bad, 13 May 2004

As other reviewers have mentioned, Flesheater stars Bill Hinzman of Night of the Living Dead fame as the title zombie in an all out attack in the undead. The film by no means gets close to the entertainment level of the movie it draws inspiration from, Night of the Living Dead, but is still entertaining to a degree despite being highly predictable. As stated before, a farmer uncovers a wooden box with a bizarre warning on it that had obviously been buried for decades, and upon opening it releases the zombie Hinzman who starts his rampage of undead terror. The acting is not the greatest and the story drags at times, but some scenes are pretty spooky, such as when Hinzman and some other zombies wander into town and attack a family in a suburban house. The ending, which I won't reveal here, is highly predictable and you can see it coming a long time off. All in all, Flesheater may not be the greatest horror film ever made, or even a great zombie movie, but it's not totally awful, either.

This is another film in the long line of killer zombie rip-offs since Night of the Living Dead. This movie is not bad, but it doesn't have near the impact that the Living Dead series created by George Romero. The acting is very lame, and it's pretty predictable, but the gore makes up for it, kind of. The movie could have used some suspense along the line also. All in all, an alright zombie flick

I recently had the opportunity to sit down and watch this movie with actor
Rik Billock, who plays farmer Ned in this picture, and have to say that,
being the great horror fan that I am, this movie was not so bad. So what
most of the actors were just hired models to look pretty for the screen!
Not all were that bad. The quality of this film is not bad either. There
are some wonderful eat scenes, great head explosions, and nice tits! I
think it great that Hinzman, the first zombie seen in "The Night Of The
Living Dead" who walks in the cemetary to chase Barbara, should reprise his
role and eat flesh once again! If you can just get past the extremely
noticable Western Pennsylvanian accent, and granted the ended is a pretty
much the same as "Night Of The Living Dead" , (which by the way the man at
the end of this movie who shoots the only 2 surviving teens is the same man
who shoots the only survivor in "Night Of The Living Dead" at the end of
that movie as well), then a person may see an artistic work of art and
zombie gore that fans want and expect! I reccomend this movie to all horror
fans!
By the way Rik, Juanita really enjoyed it also!

Okay first off, I remember about three years back my dad had just moved into St. Francis into a new apartment and one of the first times I visited him in that area we went to a cool video store called Buckys video. Anyway I'm a huge fan of horror movies and I checked out the horror section and I caught a glimpse of a cover box of this film. (the VHS of this is called REVENGE OF THE LIVING ZOMBIES) I picked it up and after viewing it was I disappointed hell no! This was a good zombie film that is underatted so much because some people think this is a copy of the infamous NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Okay people listen to me yes the ending rips off night but thats about it! The only other similarity was the fact of zombies walking around farmfields. People need to watch this and see it for what it truly is A GOOD MOVIE WITH SOME NICE ACTING AND MEMORABLE SCENES. Now that I'm done with that heres the plot: A bunch off teens take a tractor ride into some woods to have sex and party. Nearby a farmer accidentally unleashes a zombified sacrifice. Farmer gets killed, he returns to life both start killing teens, two becomes 4, 4 becomes 6. you know. The music is great and it adds greatly to the atmosphere of the film. (creepy piano music) and the area its in just has a great creepy atmosphere to it. This gore is awesome savini like gore. Heads are blown off, throats are ripped out, a cop is mutilated in his car, a heart is pulled out, some impalings, the bedroom scene (if you see it you'll know what I mean. A good and underatted creepy zombie film, don't listen to what others say see it and you might be surprised.

This is the best movie I have ever seen! The movie starts really great with a couples of youngsters who's going to have a party in the woods. One of them (or if it is the farmer who gives them a lift, don't remember) doesn't give the nosh leaders (zombie leader, played by Bill Hinzman) grave the respect it should have, therefore he comes up from the ground to eat them and turn them into noshes as well. The main characters dies in the middle of the film, but the noshes just keeps on eating until the movie ends, brilliant! I recommend this movie to people who enjoys zombie flicks and people who just loves movies in general as well.

This is an obviously cheesy low budget "ZOMBIE" movie........Just the way I like theme extra cheesy!I am kinda surprised this did not get a 5.0 or something better I mean this is really a good "ZOMBIE" film cool music, stupid plot,cool/cheesy "ZOMBIES" and naked women to try to sell the movie better but you do not need nudity for an already good "ZOMBIE" movie ya you guys might disagree but oh well. This is the kinda movie you should watch on a Friday with your friends while drinking soda and eating pizza. The acting in this is obviously not great but oh well the special f/x is pretty dang good for a low budget "ZOMBIE" movie. Now I know I may make a lot of people made on what I am going to say but this is better than George A. Romero's "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" honestly I do not care who disagrees with me.I do kinda like "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" but you can see what I am going to say later on my review for it.Anyways go out and get "FLESHEATER" it is a really gory time.

Great Zombie B-Movie, 1 June 2009

In Halloween, a group of five teenage couples hires a tractor driver to
a hayride to the countryside to party, drinking beer and having sex.
Meanwhile, a woodman accidentally unburies FleshEater (Bill Hinzman), a
zombie hunger for flesh and blood. Each teenager is attacked and
transformed in zombie, spreading the evil and attacking the locals,
making a hell night in the area.
"FleshEater" is surprisingly a great zombie B-movie and a gem to be
discovered by the fans of the genre. S. William Hinzman (a.k.a. Bill
Heinzman), who wrote the story and screenplay, is also is the
additional cinematographer, editor, producer, lead actor and director
and works with amateurish actors and actresses that undress very easily
in front of the camera. The most important is that he is aware that his
movie is trash, and he uses all the possible elements of this genre,
associated a great special effects. The result is an underrated zombie
movie, with a funny and entertaining story. Last but not the least;
Bill Heinzman is the cemetery zombie of "Night of the Living Dead". My
vote is seven.

What can I say about this movie? It's extremely cheap copy of such famous zombie flicks like "Night of the Living Dead" or "Dawn of the Dead" but for some reasons I like it(maybe because "Flesheater" belongs to "so bad,it's good" category of the cinema). There is virtually no plot, just bloodshed. So don't expect any suspense here.A lot of gore(exploding heads, heart ripping, throat slitting, cannibalism and many more)and plenty of nudity. To sum up,if you are a casual viewer-this isn't for your eyes, but if you are a gore-hound then you can try this stuff.
