Fueled by klezmer and set in the Paris night world, iintelligent yet hilarious screwball comedy. Jonah, a young musician and father to a newborn son, learns at the last minute that, he must rush to bury the foreskin of son.
... or more exactly frenchman's Forrest Gump. Take the same idea, give it to the French and you will end up with a movie that lacks ambition and then difficultly takes off. Here the naive boy from the country goes to Paris to find the girl that was lost in his village and had sex with him before she could leave that "awfully dull place". Along the way he discovers love (???) and ends up as head of a hamburger restaurant.
The discrepancy is sometimes funny but this movie lacks a good characterization and rhythm. J-F Stévenin is good but the script aims to be clever before being funny thus who do we care for? Nobody except this cold hamburger as the lead character. French food pleeaaaase!
