Under The Dome cancelled, not returning for season 4

When Under The Dome season 3 ends next week, that'll be CBS' final ever visit to Chester's Mill as the show has been cancelled...

You'll forgive us if we don't fly the flags at half-mast for this one. Under The Dome, CBS' summertime Stephen King adaptation, is officially ending at the close of season three.

That means no more Big Jim and his menacingly tight shirt buttons, no more of Junior's bovine beauty, no more of Julia's bouncing, luxurious hair, and most of all, no more bonkers leaps of illogic that assume the show's viewers have fewer critical faculties than a toddler yet to understand that Teddy doesn't actually disappear when Daddy covers him with a blanket.

We jest. It's a show that, for all its faults, never stopped trying. You had to admire its moxie, if nothing else. And far be it from us to applaud when any work »

‘Amateurs,’ ‘Paradise Hills,’ ‘Kiken’ Set for Austin Fantastic Market

13 August 2015 10:39 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

“Amateurs,” “Paradise Hills” and “Kiken” feature among 13 genre pic projects to be pitched at 2015’s 3rd Austin Fantastic Market that offers a tantalizing mix for Latin genre cognoscenti of cutting edge Latin American, U.S. and European horror/fantasy fare.

Seven of the 13 projects are freshmen (or women) films, pointing to a new wave of genre directors breaking through often supported by producers – Gerardo Naranjo, Isaac Ezban, Andre Pereira – who have only emerged in the last decade. As Austin itself points out, pitch projects involve talent from “Miss Bala,” “Redeemer,” “Open Windows,” “”Shrew’s Nest,” “Elite Squad-The Enemy Within,” High Five” and “The Incident.”

In such a context, Argentina’s Ramiro Garcia Bogliano, at Austin with “Demon Driven,” or Uruguay’s Carlos Ameglia, “Kiken’s” helmer, seem positively veteran. The Market also features “Bandit Heroes,” from Chilean genre pioneer Ernesto Diza Espinosa (“Redeemer”), a Robin Hood-ish bank heists tale. »

Stray Bear Productions, the London-based company run by producers Ivana MacKinnon and Lauren Dark, is ramping up its development slate.

The production outfit is behind Tom Harper’s political drama War Book, which opened the International Film Festival Rotterdam (Iffr) last night.

'NCIS' Recap: What is Tony Hiding from the Team?

13 January 2015 11:37 AM, PST | | See recent BuddyTV news »

The last episode of NCIS brought back Gibbs' second ex-wife, Rebecca, and the team (and us) got to meet her for the first time. The heavy episode also marked the return of international mercenary Sergei Mishnev, who made it his mission to recreate traumatic events from Gibbs' past just to watch him suffer. In a shocking turn of events, while Gibbs and another ex-wife, Diane, were on the rooftop where Kate was murdered, Diane was also shot in the head. I have no idea how Gibbs will find the words to tell Fornell, who had recently reignited his romance with Diane.

In this week's episode, "The Enemy Within," the NCIS team is hunting for an American terrorist linked to the kidnapping of a social worker in Syria. »
