The protagonists of both films, Eric (The Crow) and Don, have several similarities in their personalities. Both are ruthless, dark characters who are 'back from the dead'. Both advocate to "Quit smoking, as it kills" and are trying to quit themselves too. Don convinces Roma that he is Don by speaking a line familiar only to her just like the "Can't rain all the time" line spoken by Eric to Sarah.
