A quick little note and I'll get out of your hair: this quirky little short film is a real piece of work. Consider yourself blessed if you ever come across it, either at a NFB or Canadian public library or on late night Canadian TV (much like another Canuck docu-gem - Coleslaw Warehouse). Supposedly about a Torontonian shmoe who finds dinosaur bones near his old stomping grounds, this flick turns into a platform for Don McKellar's subtle zaniness. You can't help but like this fella, or even relate to him a little bit. Granted, it's kind of a homegrown Canadian secret - but seek it out. You will not be disappointed.

Don McKellar is a weird friggin' guy.

McKellar gives a performance so realistic that you would think you were watching a documentary. Bonkers. Namir Khan is always good. This film teaches a valuable lesson: breaking into apartment buildings is always a good idea.

From the minute I saw this film I was held spell bound until the credits started rolling. The film is a documentary about a guy who finds a large Dinosaur skeleton in a wooded lot by the high rise apartment building he use to live in, and the competition he gets from others who hear about it. Or is it?
Rent a copy of it and I promise you, you'll want to keep the video tape.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

This is quite possibly one of the most beautifully orchestrated masterpieces of our time in the short film genre. It was so incredibly amazing. My life will never be the same.It was so amazingly Wes Anderson-like in humor but, at the same time, remained unique in the essence that it had a plot that wasn't followed because the plot was irrelevant. It's humor was, as I said, similar to Anderson's but also far more awkward. The kind of pranks we wished we'd pulled when we were kids were portrayed in such a magnitude that you doubted its realism, yet you really hoped that it was true. Anyway, this movie, while hard to track down, is so worth every second of the time that you will spend watching it. And I know where all the frogs went.
