Jaap places a personals ad for Simon in de Bruine Rotterdam. To this, one woman responds. Simon meets Lotus at the love-in in the RAI. Bas goes to work at Nel's laundromat.
Jaap tries to get into the Guinness Book of Records by saying nothing for 24 hours. Simon does a detergent test in the laundromat for de Bruine Rotterdammer.
Jaap reads in the newspaper that crime is hereditary and thinks it should be dealt with harshly. Simon interviews Hopjes who is locked in the coal shed for dropping a teapot.
Jaap thinks the Dutch press should pay more attention to homegrown artists such as Heintje. Simon interviews Mick Jagger and writes "Sympathy for the Devil" with him.
Jaap applies for the position of deputy director of the Roteb. He organizes a reception at the bowling club. At the last minute, the position passes him by.
To get into de Bruine Rotterdammer, Jaap buys his favorite book. When Mr. Harmsen reads the story in de Bruine he wants to have that book too. Only mother won't let him.
Because Bep Rodenburg (Simon's colleague) is not insured, Simon has to bury him himself. He wants to be buried under the center spot of Zwart-Wit '28. Only Nico comes a little later to say that this is not allowed.
Hopjes resigns and becomes Simon's butler. Bas has run away from Adri. Hopjes now also goes to work in the laundromat. Eventually Hopjes goes back to Mr. Harmsen and Bas comes back to Adri.
