Arthur Forney has signed a new overall deal with Dick Wolf’s Wolf Films and Universal Television, Variety has learned.

Under the pact, Forney will continue as co-executive producer and director for all NBC series hailing from Wolf Films and Universal Television, including “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.

Is Malik Yoba Bitter About Being Killed Off of ‘Empire’ Or Nah?

20 March 2015 11:15 AM, PDT | VH1.com | See recent VH1.com news »

Warning: Empire season one spoilers ahead.

Vernon was the character who died on the Empire season finale — not that we’re entirely surprised. He is the one who knew Lucious killed Bunky, plus he already tried to take away Lucious’ control of the company and was dabbling in coke. The odds weren’t in his favor. Getting killed off a hit show is a tough break for any actor, especially when you weren’t that memorable to begin with. The TV veteran is going hard on a post-Empire press tour this week, discussing his not-so-dearly departed character. And honestly? It’s more than we ever got from him on 10 episodes of Empire. Although apparently that’s not his fault. “It’s bad enough y’all haven’t written anything real significant that I can sink my teeth into,” Yoba said during his interview with The Combat Jack Show. “People don »

Place Your Bets: Who Will Die in the ‘Empire’ Season Finale?

16 March 2015 9:30 AM, PDT | VH1.com | See recent VH1.com news »

—Michael Arceneaux

For weeks now, Empire and its ever-expanding base of viewers have been teased about its inaugural season’s finale — most notably, that “everything will change.” Considering Lucious Lyon could drop dead any second now and more than one character has come face to face with the barrel of a gun, a shocking death is not out of the question. Now, I don’t have much in the way of making solid predictions outside of knowing when my Internet service will go out (at any moment, at any given day) or that there will be baes at the gym (part of the reason I joined that location). Nonetheless, I’ve been tasked with leading the guessing game so here I go, here I go (if you heard Mystikal’s voice, you get two points). The characters we believe have the highest chance of dying in the season finale are:

‘Seinfeld’ Actor Daniel von Bargen Dies at 64

4 March 2015 1:53 PM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Daniel von Bargen, a prolific character actor best known for his role as George’s lazy boss Mr. Kruger on “Seinfeld,” as Commandant Edwin Spangler, the military veteran who oversees the cadets at Marlin Academy, on TV’s “Malcolm in the Middle,” and for his role in a two-part episode of “The West Wing” in which he played Air Force General Ken Shannon, died March 1 in Montgomery, Ohio, after a long illness. He was 64 and had been dealing with health issues for the last five years.

Von Bargen was known for roles as irate or defiant cops, district attorneys, judges, and other authority figures. But he also spent a good deal of his time onstage.

The actor had most recently appeared in Thomas Edward Seymour’s 2009 feature “London Betty,” in which he starred.

But mostly von Bargen was relegated to small but frequently memorable supporting roles.

His film credits include “The Silence of the Lambs, »

Who Convinced Naomi Campbell to Join 'Empire?'

25 February 2015 12:21 PM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

All it takes is one person to light a fire and inspire you.

For Naomi Campbell, her friend and fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg convinced her not to give up on the acting world in the much-talked about series Empire.

The 44-year-old supermodel revealed to Vogue, "I've known [creator] Lee [Daniels] for a long time but when he asked me to play the role, I wasn't sure. I'd given up on acting."

It was then that Von Furstenberg gave her these words of advice, "Give it one more try, go out there and own it!"

Words everyone should live by!

In the hit Fox show, Campbell took on the guest role of Camilla Marks, one of Hakeem's (Bryshere Y. Gray) older lovers, and she stood out with her line on Feb. 18, "What is bae?" Clearly, Naomi took her friend’s words to heart and owns the role as Camilla — she is not someone you want to mess with!

‘Empire’: Lucious Says He’s Dying and Cookie Can’t Keep Her Goodies in a Jar

19 February 2015 5:30 AM, PST | VH1.com | See recent VH1.com news »

-Michael Arceneaux

On the latest Empire, Lucious took a tumble while his ex-wife Cookie both saved the day and got laid. Salute that woman because she is the show, the after party, and the hotel.

She deserves some good loving even if it’s from a man who talks like he has a cold and he’s trapped in a haunted house. Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell is lost in contemporary colloquialism, Jamal has lost his boo thang, and once again, Andre has lost his damn mind. Let’s talk it out, folks.

1. Does hip-hop really require this much showmanship to sell itself in 2015?

I should probably stop belaboring this point, but these potential investors were treated to a concert, some Cirque du Soleil-like shit, and an all you can eat rich people food buffet to help a rap label go public. In 2015, no less, when hip-hop has long proven its money-making potential. »

Was Courtney Love Channeling Mariah Carey on ‘Empire’?

12 February 2015 6:30 AM, PST | VH1.com | See recent VH1.com news »

-Michael Arceneaux

Per usual, Cookie was everything on last night’s Empire while the rest of the family – sans Jamal, I suppose – continued to bewilder me.

I have some thoughts, concerns, and kudos for Courtney Love. Enjoy!

1. Why did Malik Yoba choke Andre?

After Vernon cornered Lucious and coerced him into confessing that he killed Bunky, Vernon then turned his sights on Andre – ultimately attacking him for providing his dad with an alibi for Bunky’s murder. Ok, so I get that Vernon is as much a “fixer” for Lucious as he is his number two at Empire Entertainment, but why would he choke Andre for covering for his dad? Is he upset at Andre for keeping him out of the loop? Is he still temperamental over Torres being killed in that car bomb on New York Undercover?

2. What broke people plan to go away for the weekend?

In order to appease his whiny boyfriend, »
