Overall, not a bad watch.

As a child, I thoroughly enjoyed the books, so after reading several bad reviews I was rather cautious of watching this program. However, after watching the first episode, I found the show to be rather enjoyable. While some things are lost in translation, the result is still quite appreciable. With All In The Family's Jean Stapleton as the wacky Mrs. Piggy-Wiggle, the show packs a wallop of kid-friendly humor while also teaching important life lessons. I recommend to long-time fans of the book as well as any who enjoy kooky, kinda strange shows.

wonderful show!!

I used to love this show when i was a kid! Even if it doesn't have anything to do with the books (which is not true!), it is still really good. I wish they had made more... Jean Stapleton is amazing as Mrs. PiggleWiggle, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job as well. Granted, no parent or person in their right mind would use any of her methods (i'm sure there are other ways of going about these issues), it is still great entertainment. Although, I would warn against it if your child is afraid of talking trees, because Howard the Hat Tree is a prominent figure in these stories, as well as a parrot, so if your child is afraid of birds... I am a teenager now, and i still enjoy watching Mrs PiggleWiggle. oh, that i could be a child again...

If you love the books, avoid this!

I checked this out from the library, and I was hesitant because my son isn't really old enough for me to read the stories to and I was afraid these would spoil them.

I needn't have worried, the program has no discernible relationship to the books other than the titles.

The show itself, I suppose wouldn't be that bad, if it didn't call itself "Mrs Piggle-Wiggle", although the pacing, even for a children's program seems terribly slow (and I usually enjoy children's programing). Even my son shut the television off, and he's two (and will watch TV every chance he gets!)! I'm glad I didn't pay any money for it!
