Betsy DeVos Dressed as Ms Frizzle for Halloween – and People Are Not Having It
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos celebrated Halloween by dressing up as the beloved Ms. Frizzle from “The Magic School Bus,” and people on Twitter are not having it. Ms. Frizzle is the quixotic, fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants teacher who taught a generation about outer space, the human immune system, the difference between reptiles and amphibians and so much more. DeVos has been widely criticized for rolling back protections for students not championing the sciences — the big reasons why her Ms. Frizzle fizzled among many lawmakers and millennials who’ve expressed anger over the costume. “Betsy DeVos how dare you besmirch the good name and honor of.

It was acceptable in the 80s: why Magnum Pi should be spared reboot hell

The show about a mustachioed investigator looks set to be the next 80s revival – but why do the likes of Dallas and Dynasty fail to ignite second time round?

By now, people have grown accustomed to television reboots. Whatever surges of fury they may have felt when CBS announced its Hawaii Five-o remake have long since been trampled into mush, thanks to the onslaught of reanimated classics like Lethal Weapon and MacGyver and Dallas and Dynasty and DuckTales and The Magic School Bus and the forthcoming Greatest American Hero redo. Reboots have simply become another bad thing we’re helpless against, like supervolcanoes or antibiotic resistance.

But sometimes, just sometimes, somebody will have the gall to announce a reboot so brazen that it fires up the pit of the belly again. To wit, CBS has just ordered a pilot production commitment for a Magnum Pi remake.

BoJack Horseman Returns for More Horsing Around in Season 4 — But Has Anyone Seen the Horse Around?
BoJack Horseman, arguably the most popular talking-animal comedy on Netflix, returned Friday for its fourth season. And for most of the show’s anthropomorphic ensemble, it was monkey business as usual.

VideosLady Gaga Vows to ‘Fight Like F—king Hell’ in Netflix Documentary Teaser

In fact, the only thing separating this premiere from others is… well, it’s distinct lack of BoJack. Just like in the trailer, the show’s titular manimal is completely M.I.A. from the 26-minute season opener, which shows just how much of a mess his friends’ lives are without him around.

Unsurprisingly, Mr.

‘The Magic School Bus Rides Again’ Trailer Reveals Netflix’s Nostalgia-Fueled Reboot

Back in 1994, Scholastic Productions, Nelvana, and PBS brought the wacky, pro-science show The Magic School Bus to children everywhere. Just as field trips were always the best part of elementary school, Ms. Frizzle's magic-assisted bus rides were the best part of the show (which tricked kids into learning things through entertainment) taking her classroom full of both eager and reluctant students through the human body, outer space, and all sorts of places in between. Now, Netflix's heir apparent to that classic 90s series has been unveiled in a new trailer. Get back on board with …

Kate McKinnon Shines as the New Ms. Frizzle on Netflix’s ‘The Magic School Bus’ Reboot — Watch the Trailer
Ah, the mellifluous refrain of Lily Tomlin’s Ms. Frizzle warning: “Strap in, kids. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.” How many lazy afternoons were spent learning about the digestive tract from the inside of an intestine, or flying inside an exhaust pipe to fix a faulty engine and learn what a carburetor is? Now, it’s time for the next generation to surreptitiously learn about science at the urging of an eccentric, frizzy-haired teacher. Netflix released the first trailer for its reboot of “The Magic School Bus,” a beloved and educational kids’ show that ran for four seasons from 1994-1997 on PBS Kids, titled “The Magic School Bus Rides Again.”

Ms. Frizzle, originally voiced by Lily Tomlin, will now be played by Kate McKinnon, rightful heir to all things funny and wacky. The only thing missing in the passing of the baton is Ms. Frizzle’s signature frizzy hair,
