Arianna Huffington has already appeared on television in several incarnations: panelist, game show guest (Hollywood Squares), parodied political figure (Saturday Night Live), and voice actor (The Cleveland Show), and now her life will be used as the inspiration for a new Friends-like sitcom that the pundit will executive produce. I see the character as a spotlight hungry cross between Monica and Phoebe, who finds brief but bisexuality-interrupted love with a millionaire, played by Tom Selleck. »

Angelina Jolie has topped a new list of high-earning actresses - earning $2 million (£1.3 million) more than her partner Brad Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston last year.
Jolie banked $27 million (£18 million) in the last 12 months, according to finance magazine Forbes.
The bulk of the Tomb Raider star's 2008/2009 income reportedly came from her share of the profits from her action film Wanted and her paycheque for new film Salt.
Marley & Me and new film The Baster swelled Aniston's fortunes, and put her in second place on the new Forbes list.
Aniston also still earns big cash from re-runs of Friends.
Meryl Streep came in third and Sarah Jessica Parker and Cameron Diaz round out the new top five.
Forbes tallied the actress' film payments and cash they made from clothing brands, perfumes and other sources to come up with the list. »

In a blow to U.S. TV show producers, Britain's Channel 4 network, which once aired such U.S.-produced series as Friends and Frasier, said it has no plans to buy any new U.S. show in the coming year. Kevin Lygo, director of television for the network, told the London Times: "We will be spending nowhere near the levels we did in the past on American programming and it's unlikely we will buy a new [U.S.] show this year unless we get a good deal." The Times reported that Channel 4 plans to cut at least $90 million from its programming budget in response to an 18-percent decline in advertising. »

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston still considers her former Friends co-stars "family" - even though the group rarely has time to meet up.
The 40-year-old has remained good friends with Courteney Cox since the comedy series ended in 2004 and is godmother to her four-year-old daughter, Coco.
Aniston admits she doesn't have time to meet up with the other castmates - David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow - but still looks on them all as pals.
She says, "You have grand plans, like 'We'll have dinner once a month.' And then, life happens; times change. It leaves me feeling sort of melancholy but, you know, something like that will always be there.
"We were as close as a family could ever be during those 10 years. They will always be my family, whether we are in the same room and talking regularly or not. We grew up together." »

Actress Jennifer Aniston has become so disillusioned with romance, she is convinced no relationship will last "forever".
The former Friends star ended her marriage to Brad Pitt in 2005 and went on to date her The Break-Up co-star Vince Vaughn.
Aniston is currently involved with rocker John Mayer, but the actress admits she probably won't spend the rest of her life with just one man - because it is so hard to find a problem-free romance.
She says, "I don't have one (perfect romance) and I don't think it exists. We are just fooling ourselves if we think it does. Whoever said that every relationship has to last forever? That's hoping for too much. I think every relationship is a world unto itself."
And Aniston blames the break down of communication between partners for splitting up most relationships.
She adds, "People often expect their partner to read their minds and when that doesn't happen they get upset, then the other person gets even more upset and it is all because the didn't talk it over in the beginning." »

Jennifer Aniston was delighted when her dog was hired to star in Marley & Me - but the pooch's scenes were dropped from the final cut of the film.
The former Friends actress stars in the canine comedy alongside Owen Wilson, whose own pet appeared in the movie.
Wilson's dog made the final cut of the 2008 film - and he blames the director for leaving out Aniston's pooch's cameo.
He says, "My dog actually makes an appearance in the movie. My dog Garcia is in the montage sequence at the ball park.
"Your (Aniston's) dog hit the cutting room floor! The director had a bit of an attitude and he said, 'Okay, we'll deal with it today, but see if you make it in the movie.'" »

Jennifer Aniston forces herself to endure a gruelling diet regime - because she wouldn't be able to find work if she gained weight.
The former Friends star admits she loves junk food, but has to watch what she eats in order to maintain a super-svelte figure.
And the actress claims that if she let herself pile on the pounds, she would be out of a job.
She tells Elle magazine, "I'm a realist. I know that if I eat nothing but burgers and chips, I'm not going to be hired for the parts I normally would. That might be fine one day, but not right now." »

Jennifer Aniston has vowed to quit Hollywood to escape the glare of the media spotlight.
The former Friends star, who is dating musician John Mayer, is hounded by the paparazzi eager to get a snap of Aniston on a daily basis.
But the actress is sick of the constant attention, and is planning to leave Los Angeles one day, to live "somewhere remote" where "nobody really cares".
And Aniston is considering taking a sabattical from acting as she ponders her future.
She tells Britain's Elle magazine, "I don't have a game plan. I don't think that in five years' time I need to be doing this or that. You set yourself up for disappointment that way. It seems unnecessary torture.
"I can see myself taking a few years off, living somewhere remote. I would miss acting.
"But... eventually, I'm not going to be living in L.A. full-time. Eventually I'm going to move somewhere nobody really cares. Just go off and be alone." »

Patricia Arquette is keen to unite her acting siblings for a special one-off episode of her hit TV show Medium.
The star comes from a whole generation of actors - sister Rosanna, transgender Alexis, brothers Richmond and David Arquette have all had differing measures of success on screen. David is married to former Friends star Courteney Cox.
Patricia admits her family has discussed the idea - and she would be delighted if they could pull off a family reunion on her supernatural crime drama.
She says, "Yeah, we've talked about it. My brother Richmond has done an episode. I would love to work with all of them in one big bunch." »

Lisa Kudrow would love to star in a big-screen version of hit TV show Friends - but only if producers stay true to the original. The actress, who played Phoebe in the 1990s show about a group of apartment-sharing New Yorkers, could not bear to let down her co-stars if a movie reunion becomes reality.
But she is adamant she would only agree if writers come up with a good script and producers make the effort to replicate the "feel" of the TV series.
She says, "I think we are all of the opinion that it would depend on the script, but I've always felt that if everyone else was going to do a movie, then I wouldn't want to be the person who refused and then had to be replaced - that wouldn't be fair. So I would do it, but I've no idea how the show would translate to a movie.
"It's not like Sex and the City. Friends was a multi-camera show filmed in front of an audience, so it has a very different feel. It would be tricky to pull off, sure, but if it could be done, that would be great." »

British actor Clive Owen has discovered the pitfalls of fame - his daughters keep hassling him to set up a meeting with Jennifer Aniston. The Closer star became pals with Aniston during filming for their 2005 movie Derailed.
And when his daughters Hannah, 12, and Eve, nine, realised their dad knows the Friends actress, they hoped he could use his influence to arrange a meeting.
He tells USA Today, "Weirdly, they've become obsessed by Friends. My oldest daughter is obsessed, and she knows I worked with Jennifer Aniston, so she's like, 'Call her up, call her up'. I'm not calling her up. What are you going to say to her? They hit me up for weird things like that."
But despite the strains of bringing up two girls, Owen insists he loves fatherhood - and is determined to devote even more time to his family.
He says, "I've been travelling so much that I want to hang at home. We used to take the family on holidays and adventures, but more and more, I want to go home and stay at home.
"I love getting up in the morning and taking them to school and picking them up and hanging with them. In the last year or two, if I go away for a certain amount of time to make a film, I make sure I have down time at home to keep the balance right."
And although the girls love having a famous father, Owen insists they will not be allowed to watch all his movies until they are old enough.
He adds: "They've started to understand what I do. They come to every film. They meet everybody. But they're not allowed to see the film. Most films I do are not appropriate. When they turn 18, they can watch Closer." »

A Friends reunion show is a possibility again - Jennifer Aniston has revealed she'd consider filming a one-off special.Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox have both hinted at a reunion recently, and now Aniston is on board after she took a surprise trip back in time during a recent visit to pal Ellen DeGeneres' U.S. talk show - and revisited the coffee shop from the hit sitcom.
The Central Perk set is in storage on the Warner Bros. backlot, where DeGeneres shoots her daily show - and she thought it would be fun to interview Aniston there.
Aniston revealed she had last seen the coffee shop set in 2004, when she filmed her final scene there before Friends ended.
The thrilled actress said, "This looks so much smaller... Wow...! Amazing feelings. It feels like a second ago (since I was last here)."
And the experience was such a big deal for Aniston, she confessed she would consider a Friends reunion - if DeGeneres was a part of it.
She said, "I would absolutely do the show - like one; it wouldn't hurt... (but) not a movie. I think our Thanksgiving episodes were so fun."
The actress also used the return to Central Perk to claim set items she had been promised.
Spotting a neon coffee cup sign on the wall, she said, "I was supposed to get that."
And to make the Friends set visit extra special, DeGeneres presented the actress with a 40th birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to her. Aniston turns 40 on 11 February. »

Courteney Cox found herself unable to take her eyes off DJ Samantha Ronson during a recent visit to a Los Angeles bar - but can't explain her fascination with Lindsay Lohan's girlfriend.
The former Friends star was dining with Jennifer Aniston at The Sunset Tower Hotel in the city when she noticed Ronson sitting at a nearby table.
And Cox found herself inexplicably drawn to the DJ.
She tells Britain's Marie Claire magazine, "Why are people so fascinated with celebrity? I don't know... Do I wanna know about her (Ronson)? Well, yeah, a little bit. I do. What's the deal? I haven't quite figured it out myself." »
