Poor sequel, 23 August 1999
Author: Thomas-57 from Oslo, Norway

Those of you who have read my very appreciative review of the first in this series may be surprised to see that I really dislike this lackluster sequel. The reasons for this is simple: it completely discards all the interesting elements of the first film, right down to the apocalyptic ending!

The animation is also much weaker than the first film, and the action scenes lack spark. The film's largest failing is that it fails to generate any sympathy for the unfortunate individual who has a Dr Jekyll\Mr Hyde complex going. (I.E he becomes a rapist demon at night).

Many of the serious anime fans I know really detest this, and with just cause, I may add. A real disappointment for those of us who thought the original was a revolutionary experience.
