Another 25 unsung greats come under the spotlight, as we provide our pick of the underappreciated films of 1993...

What a year 1993 was. It saw the release of Star Fox on the Super Nintendo. Bill Clinton became president. Season three of Deep Space Nine premiered on Us television. UK politician Douglas Hurd visited Argentina. Cyndi Lauper released her album Hat Full Of Stars.

Aside from those earth shattering events, we'll probably remember 1993, in cinema terms, as the year Jurassic Park dominated the box office like an angry Tyrannosaurus. A true phenomenon, its profits doubled those of the second most watched film in 1993 cinemas, Mrs Doubtfire, and almost three times as much as the movie below that - the Harrison Ford thriller, The Fugitive.

But as ever, there was so much more to the 1993 movie landscape than dinosaurs and Robin Williams dressed as an old woman. »

Casting Net: Julianne Hough as a bride in distress; Plus, Natalie Dormer, more

Julianne Hough is going the horror route. The Dancing with the Stars alum will play a bride-to-be who deliberately crashes her car to escape a hitchhiker in Curve. Iain Softley, who directed Kate Hudson in The Skeleton Key, is set to direct for horror-masters Blumhouse Productions (Insidious). [Variety]

Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer is set to star alongside Adelaide Clemens, Zachary Quinto, and Veep’s Timothy Simons in The Girl Who Invented Kissing, about a mysterious female drifter who enchants two brothers. Zachary Quinto and Natalie Dormer Join The Girl Who Invented Kissing

Zachary Quinto, Natalie Dormer, Adelaide Clemens and Stephen Graham have joined the cast of The Girl Who Invented Kissing.

The actors join Timothy Simons (Veep) in this romance about two brothers whose lives are upended when they both fall for a mysterious young woman who drifts into their small town. No details were given regarding any of the actors' roles.

Tom Sierchio (Untamed Heart) is directing from his own original screenplay, with Cybill Lui and George Zakk producing for An Olive Branch Productions. No production schedule was given.

Zachary Quinto most recently starred in the summer blockbuster Star Trek Into Darkness, while Natalie Dormer can be seen in Ron Howard's Rush. Adelaide Clemens was last seen in The Great Gatsby, and Stephen Graham last appeared on the big screen in Blood, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Texas Killing Fields.
