Storyline

A friendly troll with a magic green thumb grows one flower too many for the queen, whose laws require all trolls to act meanly, be ugly and scare humans whenever possible. As a punishment, he is exiled to a world of concrete, where he should live a life of proper trolldom: Manhattan. But of all places, his pod lands in Central Park, where he feels right at home. He befriends a young brother and sister, out for the day unknown to their parents, and must immediately protect them from the queen's attack. In the process, the boy learns responsibility, and the unpopular queen is overthrown. Written by Cynan Rees <cynanrees@hotmail.com>

[the troll laughs as Stanley drops his bag behind him and the flower jumps in]
Troll: Oh, for a minute, I thought I saw one of them, um, um, uh, flower things.
[the troll laughs]

It Makes "Thomas And The Magic Railroad" Look More Grown Up!
30 July 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Don't get me wrong, Thomas And The Magic Railroad was a mediocre movie, as well as it being one of my favourite childhood movies which I have seen about 20 times already! Moving onto A Troll In Central Park. I like most of Don Bluth's movies, but I never really seen a lot of them. (I've seen An American Tail, Anastasia And The Land Before Time years ago, and they were good films!) I'm not the biggest Donth Bluth fan, but when watching this piece of infantile crap, I never felt the same about animated movies again! The animation was good at times, but terrible at other times. (The cars weren't even moving in the background at the beginning!) The music fit the scenes quite nicely, but at some moments of the film, it overly sugarcoats an already tolerable cute moment. The characters were OK, Stanley is a kind hearted troll who can't help but get a flower orgasm each time he gets kissed by a toddler! Gus is a spoilt but kind character but he cares about his sister which is why I have some respect for him. Rosie is a slutty toddler who goes round cuddling squirrels, kissing flowers and kissing Stanley to get him overexcited before even telling her his own goddamn name! (WTF?!) and Gnorga (Who has a very strong resemblance to Cruella De Vil!) is practically A Party Pooper who practically hates anything nice! Despite the movie having significant flaws and unnecessarily puts more effort into overly sugarcoating things than doing anything else better in this film, very young children will adore this film and the movie has its own saving graces! At least that Thomas And The Magic Railroad did not have any dancing flowers and getting very overexcited after being kissed by a toddler joke in it! (That would be Fu€king creepy!)

Overall Rating: 4/10!
