Sex & Nudity


Oskar is seen having sex with his mistress in a darkly lit room. There is moaning, some thrusting and you can see a side-view of his lover's breast.

Oskar is known for being a womanizer and sleeps with many woman (not shown).

A man fondles a woman's clothed breast.

Goeth goes back to the bedroom, where a woman with her breasts exposed speaks to him. Breasts are seen clearly. Lasts about 5-10 sec.

In another scene, Oskar's mistress is reclining on the bed, and her breasts are seen clearly, including nipples and aerola. Lasts about 30 sec.

Many Jewish prisoners are seen being forced to strip. Full frontal nudity of both women and men. Most times, the nudity is shown quite briefly, but this scene lasts for a while -- around two to three minutes.

Jewish women are seen getting into a shower.

Violence & Gore


The movie is in black and white, but still very disturbing and strong violence - many Jews are seen being shot with graphic results.

A man with one arm gets shot and killed.

A man slaps a woman and hits her multiple times. In one shot, we see blood coming out of her mouth.

Around the ending of the film, a man is hung. We can see his feet flail and it's clear that he's in much pain.

There are several scenes of senseless violence against Jews. This includes everything below:

A man is shot in the head and falls onto the snow in the ground. We see a camera shot of blood streaming down through the snow.

A woman is shot in the head -- some blood can be seen by her foot when she falls down.

A child is held up by two Nazis and shot in the chest. The camera angle is from the back, but still a disturbing scene.

Several people are put in a single-file line and shot in the head. This is shown from a very far distance.

A woman in a bed is shot multiple times, and blood splatters on the covers.

A man is making sure a woman can walk. The woman is shot, and blood spurts onto his pants.

A boy is shot (off-screen). We hear the gunshot and briefly see him, post-shooting, lying on the ground.

A man is shot. After falling forward to the ground, someone else shoots him in the head and blood spurts onto the sidewalk. Shown from a distance.

A man takes his sniper out and shoots innocent people from a distance, then goes to the restroom without any remorse.



Around 25 uses of "f**k", along with uses of "bitch," "damn," "ass," and "shit."


Several characters are seen drinking alcoholic beverages. One character is seen drunk in a few scenes. Smoking is frequently shown.


Some sequences have nearly non-stop, emotionally devastating violence.

This film is considered to be the greatest holocaust film ever. It's hard to watch, and very devastating.
