Oprah Winfrey. The voices film buffs will undoubtedly want to hear from the most, however, belong to his fellow "movie brats": Francis Ford Coppola, Brian De Palma, George Lucas and Martin Scorsese, who all talk at length about their heady New Hollywood days alongside Spielberg in the early Seventies. The Irishman Gets Anna Paquin as Robert De Niro's Daughter

3 October 2017 1:39 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Netflix's The Irishman keeps adding to its star-studded cast, with Oscar-winning actress Anna Paquin joining the cast. The Irishman started production in Suffern, New York, with the first photos revealing Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and director Martin Scorsese all reuniting on the set for the first time since their 1995 classic Casino. With production already under way, it remains to be seen how many more cast members need to be added, but Anna Paquin joins an incredibly impressive ensemble cast.

The news was broke by Deadline earlier today, with the site revealing that Anna Paquin is portraying Peggy, the daughter of Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran (Robert De Niro) who has come to despise her father for everything he has become, and tries to distance herself from him. The notorious Mafia assassin has long been suspected as being directly involved with the disappearance of union leader Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino) in »

Liam Neeson to Retire From Action Movies

13 September 2017 12:00 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

Liam Neeson has enjoyed a long and varied career as an actor. He made his stage debut in 1976 and then began appearing in films and television shows. His notable supporting role in John Boorman's Excalibur (1981) brought him increased attention, as did his turn in The Bounty (1984) opposite Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins. From there, the sky was the limit. He began snaring lead roles, such as in Sam Raimi's action movie Darkman, but it was his performance as Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List that elevated him to the top ranks, earning him an Academy Award nomination. He easily moved between heavy-duty dramas like that and blockbusters such as Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Batman Begins. Yet it was his starring role in...

Liam Neeson faces off against a pack of wolves in The Grey

Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival today, Liam Neeson announced his retirement from action films. Acknowledging that fans consider him to have special skills in that area, he argued "Guys, I'm sixty fucking five. Audiences are eventually going to go come on!"

Getting into action was an accident in the first place, he said. He has always relished serious roles such as those afforded to him by Schindler's List, Kinsey and, more recently, Martin Scorsese's Silence. despite the fact that studios are still "throwing money" at him to do action films, it's the serious roles that he'd like to concentrate on at this stage in his career.

You may have seen Jurassic Park a dozen times, but there loads of details that are easy to miss. Details like these...

Last week, visual effects artist Todd Vaziri took to Twitter to shatter the illusions of Jurassic Park fans everywhere. "When people watch this 24-year old mega-blockbuster," he tweeted, "they point and laugh at the totally obvious disappearing raptor on each viewing, ya?"

What, Todd? The what!?

Alongside this tweet, Vaziri also posted a slowed down Gif of the moment in question and - yep - there it is. During the final set piece, in which the T-Rex (somehow silently) stomps into the Visitor's Centre and gobbles up the Velociraptors, one of the Raptors disappears. Not eaten by the Rex, just gone. Talk about a hard act to follow: Landline brings together the same sublime actress (Jenny Slate) and filmmaker (Gillian Robespierre) who put a sting in the tail of every joke in Obvious Child, their 2014 romcom about abortion. Ok, their movie about a stand-up comedian negotiating the pitfalls of 21st-century romance dug deeper than that pithy description – and the duo's follow-up also offers far more than meets the eye. But there's something missing that’s hard to pin down.
