Taron Egerton as Robin Hood Revealed in New Origins Movie

Taron Egerton as Robin Hood Revealed in New Origins Movie
Kingsman star Taron Egerton takes aim in the first official photos the new Robin Hood origins movie. The story of Robin Hood has been told for centuries and the new version is going to have to go a long way in making this movie stand out from the countless others that we've seen over the years. According to Robin Hood director Otto Bathurst, part of that fresh take will involve focusing on Robin Hood as a revolutionary, and not just a thief that has been shown many, many times over the last 800 years.

Entertainment Weekly has provided the first look at the set from the upcoming Robin Hood and it looks like, well, Robin Hood. Taron Egerton is Robin Hood, Jaime Foxx is Little John, Jamie Dornan is Will Scarlett, Eve Hewson is Maid Marian, and Ben Mendelsohn is once again playing a villain, but this time as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Mel Brooks On Spaceballs 2: 'MGM Is Slightly Interested'

Ever since Disney brought Star Wars back in 2012, rumors have popped up from time to time about a sequel to Mel Brooks’ classic Spaceballs. During a Q&A following a recent screening of Young Frankenstein, Mel Brooks spoke briefly about the possibility of a new Star Wars parody film:

“MGM is slightly interested in doing it.” Said Brooks, “So we’re talking. Who knows?”

While there is certainly nothing concrete there, Brooks did seem excited about the project and sounded optimistic about the film being made. Brooks also said the studio is looking at the success of the Star Wars movies as a factor in the decision whether or not to move forward. Considering the current state of Star Wars fandom, there probably isn’t a better time to bring back Spaceballs. The world also needs another Mel Brooks parody, the last film made that was written by Brooks was the 2005 remake of The Producers.

Why I love… Dave Chappelle

I will never not laugh at his bit on chicken and racism

Back when easy streaming was a twinkle in some young executive’s eye, some TV was just… unavailable. If you were desperate to watch that Us TV show, you could try the dodgy VHS guy down the market (ahem). So for a long time, I just heard about Us comedian Dave Chappelle’s legendary show. When I finally got to watch, on a grainy DVD copy, I laughed so hard I cried.

Dave Chappelle, 43, moved to New York as a teen and was soon on stage at the world famous Apollo theatre. By 19, he was cast as Ahchoo in the spoof Robin Hood: Men In Tights. The 90s were good to him (more film and TV work, and his first standup special) but it was the 2000s that cemented his legacy: he co-created Chappelle’s Show in 2003, influencing

Art Directors Guild Awards 2017: ‘La La Land’ and ‘Hidden Figures’ Lead Winners

Art Directors Guild Awards 2017: ‘La La Land’ and ‘Hidden Figures’ Lead Winners
The 21st Annual Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards ceremony was billed as a “Return to Hollywood.” Backdrops from classic films dotted the interior of the Ray Dolby Ballroom lobby. Johnny Crawford and his Orchestra kicked off the evening’s festivities with “Hooray for Hollywood.” Even a handful of the evening’s big winners were films that fit the theme perfectly.

As expected, “La La Land” continued its storybook run through awards season, with David Wasco’s team winning for Contemporary Film. In an upset, Wynn Thomas and the team from “Hidden Figures” took home honors in Period Film, despite “Hail, Caesar!” being the only of the category’s nominees to also pick up a nom for Oscars night. “It’s been a long journey to this moment,” said Thomas, who described being nominated at the very first Art Directors Guild award for “Mars Attacks!” “I’m so

Robin Hood Will Have Ptsd In ‘John Wick’-Esque ‘Origins’

It seems as if Hollywood learned nothing from last year’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” or really any other reboot that furrowed its brow in seriousness: going gritty isn’t always what audiences want. That being said, for all the iterations of Robin Hood we’ve had on the big screen from the heroic (“Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves“) to the satirical (“Robin Hood: Men In Tights“) to the animated (“Robin Hood“), I suppose we’ve never really seen him suffer with psychological wear and tear (though Ridley Scott took things in a more serious direction with his 2010 movie).

Beyond He-Man and She-Ra: celebrating the Filmation legacy

Andrew Younger Sep 2, 2016

Tarzan, Space Sentinels, The New Adventures Of Batman, Flash Gordon, Bravestarr and more, as we salute Filmation...

For a child of the 1970s and 80s, nothing readied you for a half hour of quality entertainment quite like the Filmation logo. Immortalised by their phenomenal success with He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, and its spin off She-Ra: Princess Of Power, Filmation produced some of the most fondly remembered animated series to grace the small screen.

Over a period of 26 years - in tandem with classic Doctor Who funnily enough - the company's writers, artists and producers delivered a staggering amount of programming. While naysayers point to Filmation's penchant for reusing a stockpile of rotoscoped body movements, or the heavy handedness of its moralising and educational content - children on the other hand, thrilled to an irresistible mixture of action, adventure and superhuman heroes.

Now something of a lost art form,

The lead single from 1998’s “Americana,” “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)” was quite the success both nationally and at this writer’s elementary school. California fire threatens Tippi Hedren animal sanctuary and destroys film set

The Sand Fire has forced the evacuation of the Hitchcock actor’s Shambala Preserve and razed popular Hollywood film set Sable Ranch

A fire that is sweeping through the Santa Clarita valley in California has destroyed a set used to shoot films including Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Maverick and Bells of Coronado. It has also forced workers at the Shambala Preserve, an animal sanctuary founded by Tippi Hedren, to evacuate most of its animals, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Sand Fire, which has expanded to 51 square miles and burned down at least 18 homes, was only 10% contained as of late Sunday night. The Los Angeles County sheriff’s department is investigating the death of a man who was thought to be caught in the blaze.
