Storyline
In a remote region in India there has been a tradition of settling differences by fighting a duel with pistols with only one bullet in each of them. Such was the duel fought by Shankar and Thakur Bhavani Singh, with the latter emerging as the victor. Years later, Bhavani's son, Prithvi, returns from London, meets Shankar's son, Gora and daughter, Tara, befriends them, and eventually both Tara and Prithvi fall in love with each other. When Bhavani finds this out, he wants Prithvi to marry Rajeshwari, who comes from a rich family, and will destroy Gora Shankar and his tribe of gypsies. Unable to make up his mind, Prithvi ends up marrying both women, leading to Tara giving birth to a son, Pratap. Bhavani is enraged when he this out, he has Tara and a lot of their people slain, and their homes torched. Gora himself is arrested by the police, and sentenced to several years in prison. When he is discharged, he asks Bhavani for a duel, but Prithvi intervenes and is killed. Gora takes Pratap ... Written by

I cant believe this film wasn't such a big hit it deserves. The storyline is terrific. 2 generation told story. The first being the senior actors conflict. Sunil Dutt and Vinod Khanna as father and son, where Sunil Dutt is strict on his high status tradition. Vinod Khanna and his friendship with Anupam Kher (Sunil Dutts enemy). Vinod falls in love with Anupam Khers sister Rambha and makes her pregnant but is forced to marry Ashwini. Both give birth to sons. Second generation is Aamir Khan who's mum Rambha dies and lives with Anupam Kher and Saif who lives with his mum and grandpa with a easy rich life. Both start realising they are step brothers and the hatred starts. Great acting by Aamir Khan and Sunil Dutt. Vinod Khanna was alright, Saif Ali Khan was still new at the time and was OK, The girls were fine. Music is decent and the overall movie is entertaining. It could of been better, needs a lot of editing (3hrs 15+) and a few scenes could of been changed around.
