Click image to enlarge The photo is captioned "Nowhere to run" on Facebook, with two hashtags reading #AlienCovenant and #Daniels, alluding to this shot of Katherine Waterston being a pivotal moment in the upcoming Ridley Scott-directed film that will follow Prometheus and function as another prequel of sorts to Scott's own Alien movie. Waterston is playing Daniels, and everything about her screams Ellen Ripley. From the short hair to the sweaty tank top to the badass weapon beside her, they're definitely evoking the series' most iconic character, introducing a new heroine who, from the looks of it, has nowhere to run here. Is she being chased by an alien? Is she the last one left standing (or sitting, from the looks of it)? Definitely looks like...

Almost exactly one month ago today, the first set photo surfaced from Alien: Covenant, as production got under way in Australia on director Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic. That particular image revealed the Weyland-Yutani connection to this movie, while we've also seen photos of a massive alien massacre over the past few weeks. We haven't gotten any official first looks at the cast members, but that all changed today with the arrival of a new photo featuring Katherine Waterston as Daniels.
This new image debuted from the Alien Anthology Twitter page, which was taken directly from one of the monitors on set. We don't know for sure if this photo was taken on the Covenant ship itself, or where in the story this scene takes place. The story follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, who are bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. »
Filming is currently underway on Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant, and -- perhaps in belated celebration of the original film's 37th anniversary yesterday -- the Alien Anthology Twitter account has tweeted out the first official look at the film. The dark-hued image (taken from one of the on-set camera monitors) features Katherine Waterston's character Daniels, a crew member on the Covenant spacecraft that travels to a remote planet whose only inhabitant is Michael Fassbender's David, the android who survived the events of Prometheus. Twentieth Century Fox has released a new “Alien: Covenant” set photo, in which fans get their first look at Katherine Waterston’s character, Daniels. “Nowhere to run. #AlienCovenant #Daniels,” the caption reads on Twitter. The photo shows Waterston sitting in the right corner of the frame. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew members of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The photo (see below) comes from the official Alien Facebook page, and features Waterston as Daniels in the damaged hallway of what could be the spaceship Covenant. The photo is accompanied with the caption, “Nowhere to run. #AlienCovenant #Daniels”. This is the second official look at the film, following the teaser image of a Covenant crew member’s patch that was revealed on Alien Day.
In addition to Waterston (Inherent Vice), the cast for Alien: Covenant includes Michael Fassbender (reprising his role as the synthetic David from Prometheus), Demián Bichir (The Bridge), Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Amy Seimetz (The Sacrament, »
