When Sam is taking a shower for the first time in Clydie's house, he has a little bit of soap on him. As the sheriff draws down on him and he turns around, he has a lot more soap on him than a split second before.
During the lunch scene, Mookie asks Sam to pass the salt. Sam gives the salt shaker to the kid and you can see Mookie taking it with his left hand. In the next shoot, from another angle, he is taking it with his right hand.
When the prisoners try to steal the car right after they escape from the prison bus, they start a fight. One of the prisoners falls through the door, after receiving a punch. However, in the next shot, when he falls on the ground, the door is closed.
In the beginning of the movie, the painted lines down the center of the road change from a yellow-striped two-lane country road for two-way traffic to the broken dashed white lines of a two-lane same-direction road, such as a center-divided four-lane interstate-type highway.
In the store, when Sam and Mr Dunston are talking, there is a shot of Mookie touching a tub of gasket sealer, the shot then goes to Sam and Mr Dunston talking and then when the shot goes back to Mookie, the tub has gone.
At the breakfast table, about the time of the blasting, Clydie is walking to the kitchen window, she turns around and has a cigarette in her mouth. The shot then goes to Mookie who is telling her his theory about E.T stealing the salt shaker and when the shot goes back to Clydie, the cigarette is now in her hand.
When Sheriff Lonnie first meets Mr. Dunston, he very clearly introduces himself as Lonnie Poole (about 18:15 into the movie), and later, when Lonnie and Mr. Dunston are talking outside the auto-parts store (about 57:20), Mr. Dunston calls him Lonnie Poole. Even in the subtitles his last name is Poole, yet in the credits to the movie, he is identified as Lonnie Cole.
