Storyline

Drama, based on a true story, about a teenage girl, Diana, who inadvertently is sucked into the world of prostitution by her boyfriend-turned-pimp, A.J., whom starts abusing her and eventually murders her. In the aftermath of her death, her mother, Gayle, makes the crushing discovery of how the law views prostitutes (Diana's murder cause was listed as NHI, or "No Humans Involved"), plus the police is unable to charge A.J. with her murder due to a resulting lack of evidence. While working with police to land A.J. into prison on another related charge, Gayle meets another one of A.J. prostitutes, April, and begins learning things from her about A.J., plus helps her get out of the trade and back into her mother's arms. Quotes

Laurie: Diana hasn't worked here in weeks.
Gayle Moffitt: She's with A.J., isn't she?
Laurie: I don't know.
Gayle Moffitt: Oh, come on, Laurie. I can't believe she would shut you out of her life.
Laurie: Well, she did.
Gayle Moffitt: Why?
Laurie: Because, she knows I don't approve of what she's doing.
Gayle Moffitt: You mean being with him?
Laurie: Mrs. Moffitt, please, I can't. Look she would kill me if she knew that I talked to you.
Gayle Moffitt: I know but please tell me where I can find her.

Typically mediocre TV movie
14 May 2000 | by (North Bay, Ontario) – See all my reviews

This is just a typical TV movie...no more, no less. The acting is fine and the story is competent, but there's really nothing to like about this picture. It moves too quickly at the beginning (in order to set the story up, I guess), then it slows down and becomes like any other melodrama. It's also an awfully predictable movie, and therefore, it becomes fairly dull after a while. Although the movie really isn't that bad, there's simply no reason for anyone to sit through this.
