Storyline

When Dan O'Grady returns to the U.S. after stealing some Irish leprechaun's pot of gold, he thinks he can settle down and enjoy his newfound wealth. He thought wrong. The leprechaun followed him and O'Grady barely gets away with his life, having locked the little monster in his basement. Ten years later, J.D. and his spoiled daughter Tory move in. By accident, the leprechaun is released and almost immediately the annoying creature starts to look for his gold, not displaying any respect for human life. Written by Peter Zweers <peterz@pi.net>

Warwick Davis appears without his leprechaun makeup as an extra in the cafe scene sitting beside his wife. The other extras in this scene are crew members including writer/director Mark Jones, sitting at the counter with a trucker's hat on, and special makeup effects creator Gabe Bartalos, in the booth behind Jennifer Aniston. Worthless as horror, very entertaining as a comedy.
6 January 2003 | by See all my reviews

This movie is not scary in the slightest, unrealistic in the extreme, frequently embarrassing (watch the scene where all the characters take turns hitting the poor leprechaun over the head with whatever they are holding), and, above all, very entertaining! The acting and dialogue are above-average for the genre (a policeman pulls the leprechaun over - in his toy car: "Hey, aren't you a bit too young to be driving around at this time of day. The leprechaun responds: "Well, I AM 600 years old!"), and the action never lets up. (**1/2)
