One of India’s leading Music Labels – Tips Music has just become one of the largest entertainment brands on Facebook in India. The company’s Facebook community crossed 2 million fans and has one of the highest engagement rates on the social network. The company was one of the last to join the social media bandwagon but has surpassed their competitors in a short span of 2 years. Tips Music’s Facebook page is the largest not only amongst the music companies but also film production companies in India. Unlike their competition, Tips Music has broken the trend of depending only on new music to grow their community and leveraged their rich 90s music catalogue to engage with fans.

Madhuri Dixit was once told she would never make it big in Bollywood

7 June 2013 11:16 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Bollywood goddess Madhuri Dixit was once told early in her career that she would never succeed within the film industry. At a recent event, Madhuri stated the following to the Indian media and how she was determined to prove her critics wrong. “Being a woman you always go through something or the other. When I made my debut in Bollywood, many people told me I can’t do, it’s not a good place, I can’t make my position in this industry. But that time I had faith in myself and worked and proved everyone what can I do.”

Making her film debut in Abodh (1984), Madhuri eventually secured the stardom she sought to achieve with the blockbuster hit Tezaab (1988), where she performed opposite 80s superstar Anil Kapoor. Subsequently, she has starred in key Bollywood films like Dil (1990), Beta (1992), Khal Nayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) and Dil To Pagal Hai »

Madhuri’s Choli is top of the Bollywood pops!

27 April 2013 4:46 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ has beaten off stiff competition from some of the most sizzling songs, to win the ‘hottest song from the last one hundred years of Indian cinema’ poll conducted by Sanona.com, the Bollywood Pay-Per-View movie streaming portal.

Madhuri Dixit’s song beat modern favourite Katrina Kaif’s sultry turn in ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan (2010) and the legendary dancer Helen’s sultry ‘Yeh Mera Dil’ from Don (1978). Both songs were a super hit at their time of release, and continue to be played at weddings, birthday parties, and nightclubs across the globe.

The once controversial song from director Subhash Ghai’s 1993 action thriller, Khal Nayak, was voted number one in a hottest Bollywood song choice poll that was conducted across social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter as part of Sanona’s celebration of the industry’s landmark anniversary.
