OK its a given this is a simple kids film and will not rock Hollywood or anyone elses foundations to the ground, but its just as well it hasn't as when you start to watch you realise its not that bad a film and you want it all to yourself.
2 brothers, like any other 2 you can find, feel what we all feel, to get out and just see where life takes you to get away from the grinds & stresses of constricted linear modern life, their parents are separated and being so young its evident the lack of a proper family unit is a deep issue for both boys.
The older brother Josh invents a story that his brother Sam is a genetic military soldier and that they must get to Canada to avoid him being sent to war.
Along the way various things happen & they meet both good & bad people as you do in life, but through the cleverness of Josh they manage to pull through outwitting the adults at every step.
Its obviously aimed at a kids imagination and although I first saw it when I was 15, i'd still sit down here at 23 to watch it.
And thats all I can say about this really, its a very pleasant little film and I can wholeheartedly recommend it, if its ever decided to release it on optical media of course....
