She may not be a household name, but Amy Holden Jones has carved out a successful career as an editor, writer and director of feature films for over two decades. After getting her start as Martin Scorsese's assistant on Taxi Driver, she made a name for herself as a screenwriter on Mystic Pizza and Indecent Proposal, and then made the jump to television in 2014, creating the short-lived ABC drama Black Box. Now she returns with The Resident, an upcoming medical drama on Fox starring Matt Czuchry and co-created by Dr. Roshan Sethi and Hayley Schore.

Ahead of the show’s premiere, Holden...

Exclusive: Adrian Lyne has signed with ICM Partners. Parasite: Demi Moore’s delightfully shlocky film debut

Ryan Lambie Sep 22, 2017

It’s Alien crossed with Mad Max, and Demi Moore plays a lemon farmer. We look back at the 1982 sci-fi horror, Parasite...

All Hollywood stars have to start somewhere, and there are plenty of A-listers with low-budget B-movies in their early histories. A teenage Leonardo DiCaprio made an appearance in Critters 3; Kevin Bacon was a memorable victim in the original Friday The 13th. Then there's Parasite: a bargain-basement sci-fi horror that cheerfully slams together two popular 70s staples: Cronenbergian body horror and George Miller-style post-apocalypse. Oh, and Demi Moore makes her feature film debut as Patricia, who grows lemons.

When Woody Harrelson was first offered a major part in War for the Planet of the Apes, he had visions of stepping into the skin of a primate.

Then he realized he was being asked to play the Colonel, an iron-fisted, ruthless soldier brought in to tamp down the now hyper-intelligent apes waging war with mankind.

The 55-year-old actor admits he was a bit chagrined. “I tried anything and everything to get them to come around, but they told me I was playing a human,” he explains, tongue in cheek, during a recent chat at a posh Manhattan hotel. Dressed in a blue T-shirt and hoodie, he’s approachable and irreverent. “I

Demi Moore Sued Over Man's Death

2017-05-05T11:14:45-07:00Demi Moore Sued Over Man's Death

Demi Moore has been sued -- belatedly -- over a death in the actress' pool 2 years ago.

TMZ broke the story ... Demi was out of town when her caretaker threw a party for a small group. Most of them left to go out at some point in the evening, and when they returned they found a 21-year-old male who stayed behind facedown in the pool.

Law enforcement told us the victim had told the group he couldn't swim and apparently tripped over something while everyone was gone and fell in the pool.

There was alcohol at the party, and that's a factor in the lawsuit.

Fate Of The Furious Faces A Forgettable Foursome -- The Weekend Warrior

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.

Will This April Dump Weekend See Any New Movie Open Over $10 Million?

After the decent opening of last week’s The Fate of the Furious--though not quite as much as I predicted--it’s going to be hard for any new movie to make a mark against its second weekend even if it drops 55% or more this weekend, which is very likely.

Probably the best bet to make money this weekend is the thriller Unforgettable (Warner Bros.), which pits Kathryn Heigl against Rosario Dawson and is the directorial debut by producer Denise Di Novi (Crazy, Stupid, Love). It also stars Geoff Stults as the ex-husband of Heigl’s character Tessa, who becomes engaged to Dawson’s Julia, making her the stepmom to the former’s daughter,

Some films are almost better experienced with a little bit of background knowledge. I know that goes against the idea of spoilers, but a little information about the plot or the characters can sometimes be the dash of hot sauce in the ramen noodles. It can set it apart from being collectively associated with a particular type of formulaic comfort genre that might have lost its flavor.

Case in point, when “Grabbers’ came out, knowing that being drunk was the only defense against the creatures, made me elevate it above any other contemporary creature flick that I had access to at the time. Then again, there are films, and in

Hollywood and Las Vegas: The Perfect Movie Relationship

There’s not many places on Earth more bright, glitzy and glamorous than Las Vegas. With its famous shows, many casinos and constant parties, it’s no surprise that the city in the desert is popular with Hollywood and the film industry. Situated just 263 miles east of Los Angeles and the film community, Vegas has attracted the attention of movie producers for decades.

Founded in 1905, not too long after the birth of the movie industry itself, the City Of Las Vegas first appeared in a motion picture in 1952. The film was The Las Vegas Story, a Howard Hughes production starring Jane Russell and Victor Mature that was a suspenseful thriller involving murder and intrigue. It was quickly followed by the likes of Crashing Las Vegas and Meet Me In Las Vegas a few years later, but it was the arrival of the 1960 Rat Pack film Ocean’s 11 which really united

Drake Drops Short Film ‘Please Forgive Me’ Early on Apple Music (Video)

Drake hasn’t abandoned his acting roots, which are on full display in his new short film “Please Forgive Me.” The rapper dropped the 20-plus-minute action movie overnight exclusively on Apple Music. “Please Forgive Me” originally had a release date of Sept. 30 — apparently, Drake couldn’t wait. The film co-stars Popcaan, Fanny Neguesha, Sonni Chidiebere (“Blood Diamond”) and Kyla Reid. Directed by Anthony Mandler and shot on location over just one week in Johannesburg and Namibia, “Please Forgive Me” is drawing comparisons to “Indecent Proposal” — plot-wise, at least. Top 3 Roulette Scenes Ever

Roulette has been at the core of casino imagery for ages – be it the standard casino billboards and TV ads or the classic Hollywood scenes that brought an atmosphere of both chance and misery at the Roulette table, where anything seemed possible.

For most of us, the closest we can get to having the same life-changing experience is if we put on a suit or dress and download some free roulette apps. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the magic of casino scenes that have inspired so many to dream big about the opportunities but also develop sound fears about the dangers lurking at the other side of the coin.

So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best examples of Roulette scenes on the big screen:

#1 Run Lola Run

This quirky European film doesn’t have much to do with casinos or gambling at all,

Pretty Little Liars Poll: Should Aria Accept Ezra's Proposal?
Warning: The following post attempts to apply real-world logic to Pretty Little Liars.

As promised, last week’s episode delivered an “unexpected proposal,” with Ezra Fitz getting down on one knee and asking Aria Montgomery to spend the rest of her life with him. But because Pll is pulling its darkest move yet — making us wait until Aug. 2 for Aria’s answer — we figured we’d spend the off-week weighing the pros and cons of any potential decision.

DVD Review – Reckless (2015)

Reckless, 2015.

Directed by Mora Stephens.

Starring Patrick Wilson, Ray Winstone, Lena Headey, Richard Dreyfuss, John Cho, Alexandra Breckenridge, Christopher McDonald and Dianna Agron.

A successful family man with a blossoming political career loses all sense of morality when he becomes addicted to using an escort agency.

Thankfully changed from its original title of Zipper, Reckless is the type of film you’ve seen dozens of times before with titles such as Shame, Indecent Proposal or even Fatal Attraction (although that one goes off in another direction but the core story shares many themes) and that will be the one thing that will stop this film being bigger than it probably should be because, despite it holding very few surprises, it is actually a fairly well put together drama with a central story that most viewing audiences could relate to, albeit one with a few flaws.

Patrick Wilson (Watchmen/Insidious) plays Sam Ellis,
