Storyline

Cat, a fugitive from a parallel Earth ruled by aliens, lands on "our" Earth in the middle of a freeway, causing an accident. She is slightly injured, and wakes up in the emergency room of a hospital, where Thomas, a doctor, takes care of her. The following day, Thomas goes back to the hospital and finds Cat's room vacant and all records wiped out. He discovers that the FBI is investigating Cat's origin, because she has brought a couple of strange artifacts. Thomas is trying to talk to her when she decides to escape. Thomas is forced by the events to follow and help her, all the while trying to understand her motives. It turns out that Cat is fleeing a group of servants of the Dark Lord. They hitch-hike to the nearest Doorway to another parallel world, but while they're waiting for the door to open, they're caught successively by FBI agents and Dark Lord goons. They barely escape through the door to an Earth where petrol has disappeared. Their adventures continue as they are still ... Written by Jay Han <Jay.Han@imag.fr>

User Reviews

Sliders minus the budget, imagination, and fun.
20 July 2002 | by (Terra) – See all my reviews

This movie had to have been a pilot for a TV series, since it sets up several events up and then leaves everything in mid-air. The idea is very similar to Sliders, (which I think came out about the same time) just they go through doorways that appear for some reason, and bad guys are after them, also for some reason. Did I mention this movie doesn't explain very much?

The lead actor is somewhat less charismatic than a floor lamp. The female lead seems to be trying to channel the LeeLoo character from "The Fifth Element" to make "Kat." She's attractive in a coarse, earthy French manner, but doesn't bring much in the way of humor, and she speaks in a pidgin English while the baddies speak it just fine.

The production values are ultra-low budget, and I was willing to try and give it a chance, but the appearance of the "biker" toughies riding bicycles with cards in the spokes was just too much.

The most notable thing about this movie was a pre-Matrix Carrie Anne Moss appears in a few small scenes. Otherwise, if you've got the thing for shows about people traveling to different worlds and realities, Sliders is much better.
