26 November 2008 6:59 AM, PST | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

Anchor Bay Entertainment has announced a New York City theatrical date for Rob Schmidt’s The Alphabet Killer. The fact-based serial-murder thriller opens Friday, December 12 at the Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street).

Scripted by Tom (The Attic) Malloy, Alphabet Killer stars Eliza Dushku from Schmidt’s Wrong Turn as an upstate New York police officer who descends into a mental hell as she investigates child murders in which the victims all have double initials (see our review here). The supporting cast includes Cary (Saw) Elwes, Timothy (The Dark Half) Hutton, Michael (Scanners) Ironside and Bill (Devil’S Rejects) Moseley. In addition to the commercial engagement, Alphabet Killer will have a red-carpet, invitation-only premiere at the Cinema Village on Thursday, Dec. 11, with special guests from the film in attendance. You can see the movie’s official website here and read an interview with Schmidt in Fango #279, on sale next month. »
