Snapshot of a classic band at their commercial peak
24 June 2001 | by (Plymouth, England) – See all my reviews

In 1992, British goth-rockers The Cure were probably the biggest band in the world - certainly in terms of concert ticket sales - at that moment.

This concert film, capturing a typically professional and polished performance at The Palace, Auburn Hills, Michigan, from the American leg of their world-conquering '92 Wish Tour, shows why they have always been such a draw for concert-goers, and why to this day they have such a loyal and devoted following.

The set list covers every era of their eclectic career. All the crowd-pleasing guitar-pop classics are here, including "In Between Days", "Just Like Heaven" and "Boys Don't Cry", as well as a storming 13-minute version of "A Forest" (arguably their greatest ever track) and uncompromisingly thrashy renditions of "Never Enough", "Cut" and "End" to appease the headbanging contingent.

Long-time Cure fans will probably have already seen this, but recent converts should check this film out to see The Cure, with arguably their greatest line up, at the very peak of their career.
