The Neighbors concept is getting a supernatural twist in the upcoming comedy Ghost Bros. Josh Bycel and Jonathan Fener, best known for their work on the TV sitcom Happy Endings, are responsible for the screenplay. Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels is producing the horror comedy for Paramount under his Broadway Video banner.

Ghost Bros. kicks off in the 80s, and centers on two hapless Fraternity brothers who die inside their fraternity house. They end up sticking around to haunt the present day owners. According to The Tracking Board, Sam Grey is the executive producer for Broadway. Alana Mayo and Gabby Canton are overseeing the project for Paramount.

Lorne Michaels has produced a number of movies over the past 40 years, some adaptations of Saturday Night Live sketches. Most of these movies have been set up as projects for current SNL players or alums. He was behind Mean Girls, which was »

Back in October 2014, comedian/actor Adam Sandler signed an unprecedented deal with Netflix, with the actor set to develop, star in and produce four movies for the streaming service. The first movie in this pact was the Western comedy The Ridiculous Six, and earlier this year, we learned that the second movie would be The Do-Over, arriving May 27. Today we have the final red band trailer for this comedy, which features plenty of R-rated language, so be sure to watch at your own risk. We also have six new photos to check out as well.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Tests New Ways to Build Its Famous Characters

21 May 2016 10:50 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have each paid a visit to “Saturday Night Live” this season. Last week, the show played host to a personage who can be just as tough to get: Dick Patterson.

Who?  This oddball businessman has the body and reflexes of a baby, and he is played by “SNL” cast member Beck Bennett. Despite the character’s appeal, he has surfaced just four times over the course of two seasons. In contrast, the popular “Californians,” a group of vapid West Coasters obsessed with L.A.  highway travel, appeared four times in the course of the show’s 38th cycle. When Taran Killam and Vanessa Bayer struck a chord with “J Pop America Fun Time Now,” a fake campus TV show about Japanese pop culture, the show ran it three times in a single season.

Great Digital Film Festival presents 1980s action comedies from "SNL" all-stars

26 January 2016 7:00 AM, PST | Cineplex | See recent Cineplex news »

There’s a certain type of film that immediately springs to mind with mention of “Saturday Night Live” movies.

For those that choose to take the charitable approach, the best ones spring to mind: Wayne’s World and The Blues Brothers. However, for many, it’s the less successful ones that have come to typify the late night institution’s contribution to the silver screen … Coneheads, MacGruber, Superstar, It’s Pat … and so on.

However, there’s a third category of "SNL" movies that the show doesn’t get nearly enough credit for. Regular cast members and alumni have gone on to become huge stars during and oftentimes after their respective runs on the show have finished. These films are often byproducts of the experience and confidence comedians hone over their years on the program and sometimes are even borne out of ideas from the cast members themselves.
